Yo guys, just bought my Omnia.
Does the camera improve with new firmware? It seems too 'white' when i leave it all on auto.

And one more thing, does anyone here uses ZAGG invisible shield? Can you share your experience?
I think the cheapo screen protector on mine is causing problems around the edge of screens.
*
Im using ZAGG invisible shield fyi smile.gif erhmmmm im not good in sticking those shield but i think it did a pretty good work by protecting it very much. It does make my phone looks more uglier but overall its good, u get a better protection and grip.

QUOTE(sharpman @ Nov 8 2008, 07:09 PM)
What I read from Modaco thread many users of ZAGG invisible shield felt that the screen became less responsive to touch. Some opted to take out the front protector while only covering the back portion with the shield. I will try to find the link of that thread.

I think the original Samsung screen protector provided is good enough for the job, IMHO.
*
regarding the front screen protector, its a bit hard to navigate sometimes due to the grip it has on the screen protector itself. But when the time comes, u'll get used to it i believe smile.gif

QUOTE(Doggystyle @ Nov 10 2008, 11:34 PM)
jimmysoo/other ZAGG user: Can I actually peel off the screen protector and use the shield alone? Wouldnt using both at the same time create a really thick layer?
*
Of course u can, in fact the ZAGG invisible shield for the screen is more than enough. But when u wanna navigate the phone using finger/stylus, its kinda hard due to the grip it has on the layer (sticky). Somehow someday u'll get used to it thumbup.gif
so dont bother much about it lar hehe nod.gif

hi i just bought omnia 16gb sg set. pls add me in the list.
Actually this is used item so i want to ask how long i need to charge the phone? and how to ensure that this phone not connected to internet all the time cause i'm afraid it will automatically connect to internet. thanks
*
charge till ur battery indicator shows 100% and there will be a green light indicator showing its 100% charged on the power button. Regarding the internet connection, u can use NOGRPS and turn it off permanently. smile.gif

hey guys,

i bought my omnia frm singapore.
can i bring my phone to samsung service outlets in malaysia to upgrade my firmware?
HH3 is killing my battery. hav to charge constantly.
any version recoms?

thanks
*
yes u can but since ur phone is not FMG (msia) set, they will have to charge u for the firmware upgrade. Or u can choose another option which is by flashing the rom urself.
The latest official firmware from samsung is HJ1. You can upgrade the firmware via online at http://www.samsungmobile.com/promotion/omnia/index.jsp

its kinda risky for me to flash d rom all by myself.
charges around how much?
*
how much im not sure, but for the latest official firmware it wont be risky as it doesnt need the samsungmodem driver in order to flash. smile.gif

Added on November 20, 2008, 12:28 amhmmmm not sure if u guys notice it, the official firmware for malaysia is still HH3. Weird, i got my latest firmware which is HJ1 from that website under malaysia country as well.

hey.....is your invisible shield peeling? mine is....although it glued on well when i received it. Told zagg about it and they offered a replacement. But i have to pay 4USD for shipping tho......have any of u guys experienced this?

only after 1 month of use
*
erhmmmmmm mine ar? the side peeling lor but just abit ler, i didnt even bother to tell zagg and ask them for a replacement, its gonna take forever laugh.gif

QUOTE(dRLurve @ Nov 27 2008, 06:03 PM)
I also have Zagg IS applied on my Omnia and it getting dirt at around the corner and start to peel off. I buy from 1 of the LYN forumer here. Can i still apply the warranty?
Thanks.
*
haha yes dirt around especially for each corner of the shield smile.gif For warranty claim i think u need to register ur IS on the website first if not mistaken.

QUOTE(lynxs @ Nov 28 2008, 05:25 PM)
u know what.....its exactly the same with mine.....and thats not dirt, thats actually the glue that sticks the IS to the phone....and it will peel....trust me...

its perfect only after u have just applied it.

Talked to tan_alliance. said he will do the warranty claims for me for RM10. Gonna exchange mine next week.

yes....you would have to register....but the thing is that....they dont make much fuss...i just told them about it and they said ok. they give me a replacement. just have to pay for postage. Condition is that i send them back the old shield once i receive the new one.

wish malaysian companies were like that.....lolz...here they would ask you to prove that it is not your fault first...any small clause u violate....thats it....no warranty.
*
hmmm if its this case, den im gonna reconsider to get a replacement laugh.gif
so for the replacement right... u send it back to the seller or zagg themselves? And u only need to send it back the old one after u got the new one? Wow, so gentleman huh zagg or the seller??? notworthy.gif

*
Im not sure how come urs cannot..... but with the samsung official msia firmware, u can input chinese characters. The last official firmware that has been uploaded by samsung was DXHJ1. Now they reverted it back to HH3, why i've no idea.

I have seen the Omnia design and I realize it is like most of the Samsung phones - very vulnerable to scratches.

So how do you guys overcome it? I've seen those plastic hard cover on phones and seriously, i rather go buy a cheaper model than using those kind of cover.
*
Get urself a pouch or invisible shield from ZAGG lor to prevent from scratches.
