about the battery life, I think u all maybe need to so some reaserch about the activesync, that set to running every few minute(depend on country setting). means that auto sync.

this function will easily use up your battery, so need to reset it to no auto sync. and it does not interefere any sync function afterward.

U can simple turn this etting off by some small setting edit.
just gogle it. i found on some forum.
*
googled it but cant seem to find the forum you were saying. Mind posting the link?

besides mine only sync when i connect the usb cable. and i have not changed any of the settings since i updated my firmware.

just a question, did any of you guys do a hard reset after updating? I did. And i think for one of the earlier firmwares it did a wonder on improving batt life. After hard reset, everything was good.

p.s. backup data before hard reset. It will erase all data on the main memory.

Yeah. I updated twice. First I was on DXHK1 (I think) and then upgraded to DXHK3 (not sure about this one if I did a hard reset because the memory was empty). And now on DXIA2 (I did a hard reset on this one... twice sweat.gif).

*edited*
Could it be that I didn't do a hard reset after updating to DXHK3 (the battery life sucked?) hmm.gif
*
It could be, because i remember when we were discussing a batt life for a particular firmware version back in V1, the solution that was posted by someone was to do a hard reset after updating even though your memory is empty. And surprisingly, even though i still cant explain it. It worked.

But your low batt life could be due to your net usage. But i cant be sure. I talk on the phone longer than you, probably about 1 hr a day. SMS about 10-15/day and thats it. Lasts me on HK3.

But bear in mind s2u and mobile shell would reduce batt life by about 25% based on my previous experience. So thus, i stopped using them.

No problem. Surprised to see no one else suggested it. Guess the old batch of us OMNIANS are no longer reading these pages....lolz

I came here also by chance. Saw something and decided to add my 2 cents.

First of all, thanks for the translation. Was excellent.

Just one thing, it seems to me that we're going one full circle here. Firstly, we create an exchange server to synchronize over the air with. Then, we modify the synchronization frequency of said exchange server.
Lastly we delete the exchange server bringing us back to square 1. The schedule is still greyed out after you delete the new exchange server.

I dont know. Just my opinion. Anyone else wanna share?

ya, that is the concept, but the schedule setting already been changed.
but i seen some other forum that, edit register key also work, but i malas edit reg key afraid of undesired effect.

can recommended GPS software for omnia?
I am now using Garmin Que with malsings map, which is free but some time it got warning with operation failure.
*
Using GMXT as well. Coupled with malsing Maps. Mapking works fine too, but you need a port splitter.
Think there is a GPS link at the start of this thread. Cant go wrong with either one of these programmes. I prefer GMXT so not using Mapking anymore.

i wouldnt use the word creator... because malsing founder is still there and only the big ppl in malsing that opened malfree smile.gif but yes.... money was the factor. malfree updates very fast because the person behind in making maps at malsing moved to malfree.. only left few at malsing. smile.gif
*
yeah, you can actually read about it at one of the GPS forums. The maps of Malfree are actually more lively. Its just that their coverage of the whole malaysia is quite poor. Some places got no cover. But thats improving pretty soon with the rapid updates of the maps.

I may switch to malfree once their coverage improves.

p.s. kalbum: perhaps we could update the first post with signature images for OMNIANS? Just a suggestion.

sure great idea!... mind giving me links to the signatures? i have no signatures at the moment smile.gif

AFAIK the low coverage on malfree is because they decided to redo and not use data from malsing as they consider it to be cheating if they do so.
u could always help and send in tracklogs smile.gif

i was very much involved with them back in the days. sad to see things as they are now... but conditions are improving.

p/s: if u send in a whole ton of tracklogs u might even get a little street/lorong named after u smile.gif
p/s/s: find lrg karlbum in gua musang heheheh tongue.gif
*
Lolz. get a street named after me. Anyways. I read the instructions about how to contribute, but im actually pretty clueless as to how to do it. I know they have instructions and all on how to tracklog but those are for GPS units and not smartphones. How does that work?

Anyway, dont think i have any links to the siggies. Seen a few ppl having them tho. Perhaps someone would like to share/contribute/design?

This one perhaps? maybe someone could improve on it

IS make flash reflect to lens camera..
the pict become white..

IS itself is a disappointment of a product. Seems to me that the best it looks is when you first install it on your phone. it gets worse from there. The other day, my thumb slid across the back and a portion of the IS became unglued when it was perfectly fine before. The smaller pieces at the top end of the phone are peeling, thats to say without surprise. Someone even asked me if i fixed celophane tape to my phone....lolz. ... Thinking of taking it off....looks so damn ugly.

They offered me a free replacement but im not sure if i wanna put a new one on my phone only to see it peel in a few months time.

maybe out of stock already..so lucky for who bought omnia got dat pouch..

erinonlyone how ur omniey? already ok now?
*
dude....that pouch that was bundled cannot be used after you put the invisible shield. Trust me. Once it goes in, it is so damn difficult to remove. Its because the non slip surface of the IS and the non slip surface of the pouch make it so non slip that you have to literally use force to pry it out.

That depends if someone wants to purchase my current omnia. Nah, i guess i would pass. Phone is great for me so i have no complaints. Dont need HD on my phone as yet and dont think i need a HDMI out.

besides, WinMo is a much better OS with much more software support. At least i get my medical software loaded. Maybe in a few years once i require more from my phone. Right now, Im good!

Q 1. Go to your settings and, under the system tab and turn off finger mouse.

Q 2. Try updating your firmware, has worked for some people. Or else, just reset your phone, the camera will work again.

Q 3. Its also under settings. Go figure.

not so expensive lah. MicroSDHC 8GB is around RM65-90 only... 16GB is around RM230-250... if the 16GB drop till somewhere around RM160, will go grab 1.. haha.. waiting for the price to drop...
*
yeah.....thats about right, but it will also depend on the class and transfer speeds. Dont just look at the price. even Class 6 SDHC can have different speeds and thus the price. remember that the classes only refer to the minimum transfer speed. Higher speeds would mean quicker loading of large files, particularly movies into your card.

My TV Out worked fine. I used PAL as my setting. Perhaps it is your TV set that is the problem. Did you switch to the channel that the cables were connected to. i.e. AV.

You should see your omnia screen on the TV.
