my question may be obvious to some, but I need to confirm if iPhone 3g work with 3g data sim card only (without voice) or not? has any1 tried this b4?

i have a data card back in kolej..i can try it out for u once i get back thr..
i tink da concept wud remain da same n hence data card or normal card, wud work da same

i've used Digi Data SIM with iPhone before.
it works, and can SMS too. same like with other phones.

If CELCOM, i confirmed 100%. If Maxis , i dunno becoz maxis is "too far ahead"....muahahahahaha

thx baretta.. that's a good news. I am thinking of buying a 3g iphone and use it with my celcom 384k data card while on the move. No plan to use it as a phone as i find it is too cumbersome for normal use which I still prefer a light weight smart phone with keypad which is easy to carry inside trouser's pocket.

btw, the 384k card works great with E272 on my macbook. I am not complaining..

i think maxis data sim card cannot work with iphone..
last time i tried my maxis broadband sim card on other 3.5g phone, the sim card locked and cant access to any function and menu..

anyway, i will go back and test again with my iphone and update later

Im also using Celcom works great on certain area (Johor) but thier speed seem like 'OMG' nowdays

tried my data sim (u-mobile) and it didnt work with my iphone 3g!!

Haha.. Garage sale is the right place to find even manyak mahal. Always do comparison before buy. I think many seller sale their Iphone 3g at reasonable price nowadays. Just my 2cents.
