The time frame of the game is set around the late 1980's to 1990's. The word Soviet Union says everything. But then again, It is fictional.

Although the fact that if the Soviet Union was still in power till 2010AD, we would have seen a very different world. The arms race would never have ended.

Perhaps even WWIII / EndWar.

Still remember the All Ghillied Up mission? The setting dates back "15 years ago", considering the fact that Chernobyl nuclear accident happened on April 1986 (which was why more than 50,000 citizens fled and abandoned that place) and there's pockets of radiation all over the place, I put my bet that the game setting is set during the early 21st century.

btw for cod series, it depends on who's developing them. i would prefer infinity ward. both cod2 and cod4 were done by IW, and they say all even numbered version of cod will be developed by IW, i think IW really did a good job.

So... The game's timeframe is around 2001 then. Overestimated and Underestimated lol.

The CoD series has not much room then. I think CoD6 would really be the last.

IW can't do it forever. CoD was always been a shoot'em up in its Singleplayer perspective and a fast paced team based shooter in Multiplayer.

IW should just move on to something better. If they can't, Activision would have to expect the worst then.

I'm kind of into the Chernobyl incident. S.T.A.L.K.E.R and CoD4: Modern Warfare used that incident as the background. I can provide a few of pictures.

Btw, from what I see, Chernobyl incident happened at 26th of April 1986. Price then has a flashback of his mission to eliminate Zakhaev in Prypiat, Ukraine, 15 years ago. In the aftermath of the Chernobyl disaster and the collapse of the Soviet Union. History of the Soviet Union only last for 6 years from 1985 till 1991. So that incident where Price and McMillan should be between 1995 till 2003.

cod 4 wasn't really in the 2010 - time line

the weapons are outdated (as in the types of weapons that are already out and are in service for example the barett. assault rifle which replaces some of the m4s in service. the kriss smg is not in as well. and loads of other new techs. but then again they created the game 2 years ++++ ago so cant really argue

I prefer current one. Not futuristic or historical. and yea, I hate Sci-fi.

Current weaponry is the best. The basic reason why CS was so popular.

I guess its all personal taste. Like me. I like WW2 history alot so I find CoD5 was a great game. Bloody hard to find appropriate servers though.

Call of Duty 6: Psychic Warfare. Imagine, you won't need guns nemore... Just use ur psychic abilities to toss rocks and all that crap. Your perks are like Psychic power, dead psychic, psykill (overkill) , 3x rocks, and ur knife would instead be a supersonic blast.

Rubbish aside, I think CoD6 would be either set in the Cold War or the Iraq war.

Current warfare and weapons is the best. Don't like too ancient like COD5 or too far future like Quake.
