Hoho...

I less keep myself updated since thread ver. 3.00 and now reached ver. 5.00 already laugh.gif

I haven't do some good study on the latest LCD models being available, but I'm looking for 24" and above with Full HD display.

So far, I see Samsung's T240 and T260 pretty attracting, but would there be any glitch or disadvantage for 1080p viewing experiencing because the resolution is 1920 x 1200 (16:10)? unsure.gif It wouldn't make any different except the "black area" bottom and top will be slightly bigger. However, my friend said that wouldn't be nice due to the ratio thingy, anyone can clarify for me on this? Personally, I don't think there will be any problem? unsure.gif

Perhaps, any good suggestion or recommendation? smile.gif

P/S: Stupid Google Chrome made me double-post doh.gif

So the conclusion is:

No matter on either 16:9 or 16:10 ratio viewing screen, the two "black area" definitely available but just slightly bigger on the 16:10 ratio screen.

Since it's still 1920, it wouldn't stretch the picture slimmer, isn't? unsure.gif

T240 is RM1.3k at Cycom. Duno how much is T260
*
RM1.3K???

LOL ~ already included in my shopping list once I back to Malaysia laugh.gif

Wondering how much T260 will be... hoping to get this instead of T240...

QUOTE(JJ_3lfen @ Jan 21 2009, 09:58 PM)
I don't think T260 will be here any time soon... because demand for T240 still not high, not many shops wanna bring those in.

I'm choosing between 2 monitors right now:

T240 - 24" viewable screen, 5ms,no speaker, nice sleek design = RM1200-1500

Viewsonic VX2433wm - 23.6" viewable screen, 2ms(GTG), Internal Speaker, normal design  = RM800+

Which one is your preferable choice? and in terms of performance & function to price ratio?

I wonder if I can actually request them to order T260 for me... gotta talk with C-Zone's boss already tongue.gif

LED-backlight LCD so nice? o.O

I went to a few Apple store before to try check on their latest LED-backlight LCD but none on display yet sad.gif

If that's the case, probably I'll hold my horse before heading for T240 or T260 tongue.gif

Correct. That's why the only LED backlit LCD monitor is the ACD.
*
Well, I known about the ACD when it released with LED-backlight model. I visited some Apple store around (even in HK), they said they have it for sale but no display or demo unit sad.gif. I wonder how great it is, because I don't see LED-backlight LCD for lappie is that "nice" as hyped compared with normal LCD unsure.gif

LED Lcds are still very expensive...still out of reach to most of us...

imho, IPS panels are the "next" best option....LOL
*
I'm really outdated, anyone can provide me more information regarding IPS panel or perhaps any review that state how different and better IPS panel compared with other panels? unsure.gif

LED ACD 24" : http://store.apple.com/my/product/MB382?mco=MTE4Mjk

Now I noticed it's 24" instead of 20" or 22" tongue.gif (I have no idea why I can't recall it's 24" laugh.gif)

Says I'm willing to pay the premium price of RM3,599 for the Apple's 24" LED Cinema Display, the input that offered by the display just Apple's Mini DisplayPort. Would there be any degradation if I used converter to convert either from DVI or HDMI to Apple's Mini DisplayPort? unsure.gif

Yes, I did haggle a bit.

I have been buying almost 70% of my hardware from Compuzone since when I was in University and that's like 5-6 years ago.
*
Hehe, I'm also an old timer of CZone since long ago. Initially I thought gonna ask Scoot's help to get the T240 since most said very rare to get it in M'sia due to low demand. Now it's not tongue.gif

BTW, care to share with us your experience on the T240? I'm considering either taking the T240 or T260, but my choice shaken a bit after some mentioned LED backlite is far "nicer" than CCFL backlite. Well, so far I haven't compare myself with the LED backlite since the current one available only Apple's 24" LED ACD. Thou I might afford to pay the premium price, but the downside is that Apple doesn't have HDMI converter at this moment sad.gif

Is T260 also available, how much it is? unsure.gif

The T240 is 16:10 ratio, does it have 1:1 mapping so I can play PS3 on it without stretched view? huh.gif

I don't think they have Samsung T260 at the moment but I did see a Viewsonic 26inch LCD monitor.

This is my first time using a Widescreen LCD Monitor so it my comments may be a bit exaggerated.

For movies and PC games, the monitor blows my mind away. Games feel more immersive and movies are just meant to be watched. The colour reproduction seems to be better than my old 19inch Samsung LCD Monitor for some reason.

For the 1:1 mapping, I have no idea whether it stretched or whatever. All I know there is a HDMI input if you need it. And yes it is 16:10 and the native resolution is 1920 x 1200.
*
Samsung's T260 specification already released on Hong Kong's Samsung website but yet to be available on Malaysia's. I wonder if T260 would be better than T240, to me it sounds like 19" 4:3 LCD compared against 17" 4:3 LCD. Just extra bigger view being the same resolution smile.gif

Huhu, that really sounds great. I also haven't experience widescreen before, but I do love wide photos. It just seems great flex.gif

I don't think I'll need to concern on the display thingy if I'm to play HD video via my computer, but that could be otherwise for PS3 which is natively 16:9 sweat.gif

Voila!!! Waaahhhhh... Samsung's T260!!!

It's already available in HK's Samsung webbie, but I'm not quite sure if I can order it already (most likely yes biggrin.gif)

Earlier I'm wondering if I'll have problem playing PS3 on this monitor as it's 16:10 ratio, but now I see most likely it has 1:1 mapping as it said to be supporting Blu-ray's 1080p cool2.gif

i think saving that amound shouldn't be a problem 4 me since i just bocor RM1500 for a brand new phone laugh.gif

That's not a worthy bet for importing the model due to warranty issue. I rather wait for it to be available in M'sia.

Anyway, how great would LED when compared with CCFL? This T260 will still be utilizing CCFL than LED hmm.gif

Even with MVA, PVA, all types of IPS panels, the response time indeed lesser than TN's, but I don't really think the "ghosting" will be really viewable from our rare human eyes sweat.gif

I'm having 8-bit 8ms MVA panel, but I don't feel any mentioned lagging or ghosting problem. I do have sharp eyes and very sensitive on quality performance.
