damn... RM950 for an IPS panel? I'm getting it for sure after CNY. How the heck did they make an IPS lcd cheaper than a VA lcd? Deos IPS LCD's have ghosting and latency issues?

i'm going to place my order for the dell IPS tomorrow. guys, just wondering, between a 24" 1920x1200 LCD and a 22" 1680x1080 LCD, do they have the same pixel size? both are 4:3. i'm worried that the 22" won't look as sharp as the 24" because of the lower max resolution, but the 24" has more space to cover so the pixel size might end up being the same on both.

It depends on the model, for their newest IPS LCD I heard they were using Philips. Anyway for those who are interested in buying the new 2209WA you might wanna call them directly and try and get a bargain price.
http://www.hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1387587 Those guys in the US can call Dell sales directly and get the LCD for UD200 instead of buying online which cost USD300. Wonder if it works in Malaysia? lol. |

QUOTE(axbx @ Feb 27 2009, 08:58 AM) I wonder why this LCD is more expensive than S2409W? i think the 1,000,000 DC is probably why.I see that the brightness is 250 cd/m2; while S2409W is 300. Others almost the same? some more, it doesn't have HDMI.. Green eh? Why more expensive? Like this, not everyone can buy, then cannot go green la... |

QUOTE(axbx @ Feb 27 2009, 12:13 PM) I asked Dell's guy, they said because of the 'environmental friendly', G2410 is more expensive... So much for that factor because dynamic contrast is just a marketting gimmick, they can put whatever numbers they want and there is no real way to measure it. samsung especially likes to come up ridiculous numbers, i guess with this new dell monitor they want to send the message "See we can make up numbers too." to samsung. One thing I don't get an answer for, why S2409W doesn't stated its Dynamic COntrast Ratio? Dell doesn't answer me either; saying, "I'll give feedback to the team" |
