What 24" IPS screen is avail in malaysia? well apart from hp's 2475

no NEC? no Hazro?

how much is hp 2475 now, anyone know? can ssee lcd price drop a bit already.

Around 2.6k at JB.

Added on November 18, 2008, 1:55 amI am looking for a 20" - 24" WS LCD.
Not looking into IPS reason too expensive.
So left with PVA or TN. I like PVA color reproduction and contrast ratio but i need a good response time or minimal input/output lag for my FPS games.

Basically this is my requirement:
1) At least 16xx-10xx resolution.
2) Nice color reproduction. (8bit panels)
3) Good contrast ratio with minimal backlight bleeding.
4) Acceptable input/output lag.

P/S: I don't mind getting a TN panel(6bit) only if its color simulation is not "so" noticable.

I notice the lately favorable E2200HD by BENQ. Looks sweet but i still prefer if it is not TN sad.gif
So braders-braders sekalian, help me by shouting out ANY models which u think best suit my needs and I will go do my homework. Just list down here. Thanks. notworthy.gif cheers.gif

If you want VA panels, you can go for Dell Ultrasharp 2408WFP. For other 22 inch Dell monitor, only offers TN panels

Samsung 2233BW, T220, T240 using TN panels (if not mistaken) So do applies for BenQ E220HD, E2400HD. You can google for reviews and decide which one you want to pick. smile.gif
S-IPS/H-IPS (In Plane Switching) panels are generally considered the best all around panel type, but they are more expensive and very few are made. High end, expensive.
Dell Ultrasharp 2408WFP is RM2.6k according to Malaysia Dell Webbie. Over budget happy.gif Guess i shall live with TN panels :-\
I see alot of good reviews for Samsung 226BW. Yet to check out 2233BW.
Thru reviews alot of ppl favor Samsung LCD monitors. I like Samsung becuz of their MagicBright function. No need spend 10secs tweaking the brightness for different ambient lighting environment. But the chances of getting a Samsung panel is a gamble also when they outsource some panels manufacturing to AU Opt. and Chimei.

Looking at Samsung's webbie, i cant tell any difference in specs between 2233BW and 2253BW. Only thing is 2253BW reports a 2ms GTG. Do u think we have the right to open box and check to confirm the unit is using samsung's panel before purchasing?

is 24" lcd really a lot better than 22" when watching 1080p hdtv movies ?

coz it is just a mere 2 inches difference ..
*
Example.
If u are to sit 30" from ur screen, and ure using a 22" FULL HD (1920x1080) LCD, ur images are sharp and visual is just big enough.
But if u sit 35" away from it and you still want to have the same sharpness and same visual size, u need that 2" extra to keep it up. Imagine u are 35" away and u're still using that 22" LCD, logically it will reduce the sight of ur visual. Thou it is still clear, but images are smaller now.

How come samsung advertise their T220 as full HD when the resolution is 1680 x 1050 (WSXGA+)? shocking.gif

I second that. nod.gif
For lesser than RM700 getting a 22" is a good deal, moreover this E2200 has FULL HD 16:9
I just feel very weird by its price. Thou TN is cheap, but their marketing strat is pulling down the market price rclxms.gif

How come if its just a diff in the pannel then the price diff is so huge? Is the really such a huge diff in usage? Which 2 companies are responsible for manufacturing the pannels?
*
Its like, Proton Persona comparing with Honda Civic. How come civic is twice its price? Becuz civic can do better than persona.
In short, the S-PVA panel can display colors, high contrast, which TN panels cannot afford to perform.

Yes panel is important. But some ppl also choose according to functions and design. Eg. Samsung has the fast switch button for brightness and contrast which is known as MagicBright. I like that button because it saves ur time by 5-10 secs from tweaking them manually.

I personal like the built in webcam for w2448hc but the review is quite bad so still getting w2408h lo

Previously the 2207 from HP did not get much good reviews. And the price is not worth paying, according to some users. How is this 2408 doing? Any comments from users here?

S2409 and T240 and E2400 are 1080p and 16:9 panels. Which is the better model for entertainment and games?

I personally like the magic bright button on sammy lcds cuz i always off the light. Then lazy to tweak the brightness and contrast. So a shortcut key is helpful to me. Wonder do other brands have such button that has customized brightness and contrast settings?

i'm referring more to the built quality of viewsonic rather than worrying about aspect ratio.
*
The higher end Viewsonic LCDs have a 1 dead pixel warranty claim policy. Specifically the VX series which is slightly higher in price than VA and VG series. The build quality not bad for VX.
