Now i was wondering...
is HDMI connector that important as a factor to purchase new LCD..
based on what kianwee said...u can get a converter if ur lcd doesnt have a HDMI connector...
My question is...did any1 try this before here and did any1 notice any problems like... decreased the image quality or sumthing?i once heard bout by doing so..u actually lowering the quality transferred...

anyway for more info...dell S2409 although have an HDMI connector....but..there are no audio out..
my fren who bought it for his ps3 in his room was disappointed as he has to get his audio out somewhere else...>.<

do PC users need to care about that so much...since most monitors doesnt even have speakers...
i know it is still good to have it....jus wondering its usefulness if it doesn't have any speakers...

HDMI on a PC LCD is important for some users, imagine you have a PS3 and you are hooking it up to the monitor. At the same time, you have a PC as well, and you want to hook up to that monitor too. So the PS3 can hook up via HDMI and the PC via DVI. If you use a converter for PS3, you will end up hooking up your PC using analog.

If you plan to use the LCD solely for PC, then HDMI is not important at all.

Dell S2409w does have Audio Out.
I own one and I know there is a audio out at the rear panel. Just beside the VGA connector.

Whenever/whichever LCD you gonna buy, bear this in your mind : RETURN POLICY. Ask as many questions as you can on the return policy they have because LCD monitor (TN/MVA/PVA/IPS/E-IPS/S-IPS/H-IPS) tend to have stuck/dead pixel(s) on the display EASILY.

I returned 2 NEC 2690 and 2 Planar 26" LCD monitor back to the online retailer due to the stuck/dead pixel(s) on the panel.

As for the type of the that panel you need. My 2 cents : TN panel : Nice to have to play fast pace and online games with no lagging. As for watching TV/Movie/HD-DVD/Blu Ray, color reproduction is a bit wash out when you view from different angle. TN is good to have for daily normal daily usage like web surfing, checking emails, online chatting etc.... No suitable for graphic work.

As for MVA/PVA : Nice to have to play strategy games. Lagging on the fast pace gaming. Watching movies is nicer, color reproduction is much more better than TN panel but not as good as IPS panel.

Finally, IPS panel, no questions about this panel that the color is superb no matter which angle you view it. Nice to have to watch movies and play strategy game. The only complaint on this type of panel is its tiny lagging. If you are doing a lot of graphic work, photo editing and web programming, IPS panel is your right choice.
