QUOTE(chanws8 @ Feb 15 2009, 07:42 PM) I dont think graphic card would be the limit of watching movie..Eventhrough the onboard graphic can play movie smoothy in 22inch lcd... QUOTE(celciuz @ Feb 15 2009, 09:04 PM) Most of the softwares to play HD formats uses software instead of hardware.. So it doesn't really matter with the graphics card. I use a 4850 and I'm still using coreavc as my decoder. Aiks, I've seen from a thread just a few days ago that people are experiencing lagginess from playing HD movies, in the end they need to enable hardware acceleration or something. If playing HD movies depends on software, which part of the hardware is it used to decode the movie?

Playing HD movies depends more on your CPU However, you can 'force' the video accleration too And also, proper codec is needed. Just install K-Lite Mega Codec pack

QUOTE(xk2 @ Feb 15 2009, 06:26 PM) The max resolution for VGA analog is 2048x 1536 if i no mistaken ,btw, wat monitor u using You are mistaken,... the 400MHz RaMDACs can power a huge resolution even beyond that of DL-DVI. 3840x1200@60Hz resolution is not a problem... by decreasing the refresh rate even higher resolution can be obtained (for example 3840x2400@30Hz) This post has been edited by BeastX: Feb 16 2009, 05:29 AM

the Processor requirement to play HD (or neccesarily 720p or 1080p or anything above standard definition) is single core 2.4gh. If you have a 2.4gh and a proper graphic card driver for you GPU (built in or other wise), you should not experience lag in playing HD. Processors newer than Intel Pentium (dual core processors for example) should have no problem playing HD vidoes even at 1.6gh
