i unfortunately got the core bundle, which doesn't have a hdmi port, but gamer's hideout gave me free component cables.

so right now my setup is a 42" toshiba lcd tv displaying at 1080i(lots of lag for guitar hero and rock band, but eh)
and the games that really look great are guitar hero 3,call of duty 4,simpsons,and gta 4.

but when i play rock band, the fretboards look blurry compared to the ps3 version.
and when i play halo 3,the resolution looks ridiculous(i heard it's naturally low,no matter what you do)

bioshock is about the worst.while it has nice shading and textures, the resolution just makes it look like i'm playing on a really old computer.
but it looks so much better on a crt tv.

i was wondering if i got vga cables and displayed at 1080p,would it look any nicer?
djinn told me it looks worse, but then again he told me he was out of stock for call of duty minutes before i popped by and got my copy tongue.gif

Depends on the TV, however I do find VGA better in most cases

i plugged my computer into my tv once and tried displaying at my native resolution 1280x800,and the screen was squished.
it only accepted regular letterbox screen resolutions, which would be stretched.

but it was good when i played resident evil 4,half-life 2,world of warcraft(yeah, confusing as hell to get that to work)
graphics weren't as amazing as the xbox, but it worked.

Toshiba 42" native 1280 x 800 (can't be)? Or the games? 1280 x 800 is 16:10, so naturally will be squished if your 16:9 TV doesn't support aspect scaling
