I've tried Remote Desktop but that was for Windows Server 2003.
Try to follow these instructions and see whether they work http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vis...-windows-vista/ |

I assume you'd like to remote desktop your vista pc through the internet. i never remote desktop vista before but i think the steps shouldn't be much different from doing this to xp pc.
if your vista pc is behind a firewall or router, you'll need poke a hole on the firewall and forward the port used by remote desktop to the lan ip of your vista pc. once you get than done, then make sure your user account on your vista pc is password protected and it is set to allow remote desktop connection. then find the wan ip (your streamyx ip) of the vista pc, fire up your remote desktop on your xp, then enter the wan ip there. if you manage to connect to the vista pc, you'll be prompted with login screen.. good luck This post has been edited by aMer: Oct 31 2008, 11:17 AM |
