I have a stock 5850 that's running hot after 2 years of service.
Installation was very easy in fact the hardest part seems to be removing the stock cooler(some very small screws).
Performance wise, 5-10Cs reduction in Idles, and 20Cs reduction under load(everything under 65 for me), both compared to my stock cooler before I took it off. Power is connected to the molex cable, so some may think this is a downside as the fan speed is not controllable, but it's fine for me because although it is running at the fastest speed all the time, you can't hear any noise from the cooler. Definitely recommending the cooler for anyone looking for an affordable solution, and the free bundle of Tuniq TX2 is a nice touch
