I'm currently looking for a laptop to run BOTH Windows Vista/XP and Mac OS X. Basically I'm a born Windows user but my college demands me to use Mac to run a few Mac based programs for work and study. I heard that it wasn't as much as the hardware that was the issue, it was the instability or something.

I had a friend who run Windows and Ubuntu or Linux, so far I haven't found any info on dualbooting to Mac.

My question is,if I get a Windows laptop and can I dualbooting it to Mac as well? Without suffering much problems? Cause my only other option is to buy a MacBook, which I don't think I'll live my life well to it.

You should check the Hackintosh thread anyway if you plan to buy a hackintosh

MacBook on the other hand can run Windows XP/Vista and OSX together without any issues and its very easy to configure to do so. IMO , Hackintosh and Laptops might be hard to configure and such things , so keep that in mind

I'm not eager to get a Macbook just yet, until at least there is a way to run this certain ASUS Laptop rig well with Mac OS X.

I just want to game and work at the same time,MacBook is overly expensive,I can just actually use the money, buy the higher rig laptop,Mac OS and all that jazz.

Right now,I want to multiboot Windows and Mac, not from Mac to Windows. Thing is, is it easier said than done, any damage or instability?

Check the Hackintosh threads , its not going to be easy and just plug and play. Trust me , you need to get a laptop that will play nice with OSX. Usually Centrino-powered notebook wifi cards don't work work at all under OSX. Plus there are bit of hiccups when running OSX86 aka hackintosh

But does it run well with Final Cut Pro 6? That's what I want to be sure if I do something like getting a laptop that can run OSX86.
