guys when i enable the DES on my EP45-UD3R, the power LED on the casing goes on and off randomly. however, the LED stays on if i turn off the DES. have anyone experienced this? wondering if it has anything to do with the MCH core??

i've tested it on different casing but no difference.. fyi, i'm running E8400 at 4.05Ghz (1.136v). LLC, C1E and EIST are enabled, Vcore set to 1.17500V, DRAM voltage set to 2.000V, the rest all set to Auto

the led show how many phases of power it use when enable, if u off the des, all phases are using so all led light up.
btw, was impressed that your e8400 running at 4.05ghz with 1.136v shocking.gif

the phase LED on motherboard is off when DES is disabled, 3~4 phases light up when DES is enabled and 5~6 phases light up when CPU is under load..

the one i'm concerning is the power LED on the casing.. the LED is suppose to light on the moment we switch on the system and light off when system is swich off but in my case, the power LED is turning on and off randomly while the system is running and only when DES is enabled.. doesn't feels right, anyone experienced this??

i think thats normal, mine also the same

only when DES is on, the casing led will flash on and off

not only us, few other people also get the same flashing leds on DES

okay thanks, kinda glad to hear that, at least it's not only my problem smile.gif

not a big deal anyway, just that i may not know my pc is running or not if the HDD LED is not blinking too and i don't look at the side panel...

So finally I have the time to play with my board. First attempt running @ 3.6 gig. Using a CM Hyper 212 for cooling, inside an Antec 900 case. Ambient temp is a crazy 34C blink.gif

Anyway, what software can get the MCH or northbridge temps? The NB heatsink seems a little too hot for my liking.

sorry.. a simple question here.

how to set RAM:FSB 1:1 ratio? (my proc is 266.7Mhz)

can i maintain 3:2 ratio and OC? this means i m OC-ing my ram too?

how high can a KVR DDR2 800Mhz OC with 3:2 ratio? or i should set it to 1:1 before proceeding to OC?

Using EP455-UD3L..
