How about my qx6800? wat is the safe voltage range for it?  biggrin.gif

u can feed much vcore into 65nm, around 1.5v for 24/7 isnt a problem, the only problem is the heat generate, especially q6xxx that extremely hot.

guys,

I need ur help abit. i just overclock my e6750 to 3.6GHZ. here is the detail.

FSB - 450
Vcore - 1.456(in cpuZ)
VTT - 1.36V
MCH core-1.26V
PLL - 1.65V
NB and SB - +.1

is this setting normal to get 3.6GHZ? i see some people get it at lower vcore. pls advice

u should keep the vtt below 1.35v for 24/7 usage. it been said that more than that will kill the 45nm processor.
and the tjmax for 45nm was 100.

My bad, I actually meant PLL not VTT.

u do not need to add PLL until 500fsb for quad i guess, just leave it at auto, or do not exceed 1.6v.

different processor has different capability.
1.456 for 3.6ghz is quite normal.
previously i used e6420 oced to 3.6ghz need 1.424v as well, the good part is 65nm has better dts thus able to show much accurate temp.

usually the settings i left it all to auto, except vcore, vdimm, and vnb..the rest auto..this can help me see how easy to oc this board...

1.22v is my MCH Core @NB voltage. need to pump a little if u're pushing it further (OC), if not, pc wont boot or "on n off repeatedly".

1.337 is my Vcore for proc. 1.22v for MCH Core (voltage for mobo).
u'll get 1:1 ratio if ur fsb is the same with ram speed. not strap.
strap oso called MCH latch. u can pick any n it'll show u different speed depend on strap that u pick.
the best bout qx6800 is, it's 65nm proc hence can put higher vcore than 45nm. but as always, heat is the prob. sad.gif
*
Oh... MCH is the mobo voltage hehe, i think i up everything a notch. actually i didnt research much on the VTT, MCH, PLL, not really know wat r them. i just concentrate on vcore n dimm voltage. i will check tonite for my other voltage. may be try to reduce some and see what happen.

ya our qx6800 really hot! hehe.... luckily nowadays all the gaming mostly utilize the gpu else sure our cpu is cooking in there..... tongue.gif

By the way, i go rma my ram already, hopefully it can come home early....

ur pc on and off repeatedly. mainly becoz of bios or low MCH core@NB voltage. (if i'm not mistaken) sweat.gif sweat.gif

i STILL have the double boot thingy even after i raised my mch core to 1.42v.

now i recalled back after i changed my back fan which is connected to mobo frm cm regular 1 (without led) to a vizo starlet uv led fan the problem start occur.is it the fan draw too much power frm the mobo?i have 3 fans connected to the mobo,2 120cm (both with led,1 is xigmatek xlf for heatsink and 1 is the back 1 frm vizo),and 1 80mm fan.

why dont u try boot ur rig without those fan. that way sure know for sure if that fan draw too much powah from ur mobo hence make the prob occur. nod.gif

haha bro, same here.. i had a vizo at the back too. changed it to an old cm silent n its all well now.. weird. btw increasing mch voltage does not resolve it.

Glad u found the problem, but my advice to u is that get some converter and hook all the case fan to your psu is the best, that way it wont disturb your mobo or u can use a extra fan controller to control the speed. As for myself, i got a second psu to power all my fan and those extra stuff like your neon light.... that way u wont need to worry your main psu is over loaded hehehe.... Just my way, for reference only ya.... biggrin.gif

guys when i enable the DES on my EP45-UD3R, the power LED on the casing goes on and off randomly. however, the LED stays on if i turn off the DES. have anyone experienced this? wondering if it has anything to do with the MCH core??

i've tested it on different casing but no difference.. fyi, i'm running E8400 at 4.05Ghz (1.136v). LLC, C1E and EIST are enabled, Vcore set to 1.17500V, DRAM voltage set to 2.000V, the rest all set to Auto

Yes, that will do. But remember tat will run your fan full speed as it draw directly from the psu. If u like to keep your pc quiet then u have to use a fan controller, no choice. smile.gif
