Using iphone 2g on f/w2.2

Just want to know why everytime I restart the phone and enter my SIM pin code it will come out a message saying

"You sim has sent a text message"

I wonder what message is sent ??

Using maxis postpaid

maxis is trying to retrieve settings (for mms, internet browser) for your iphone. it is not restricted to iphones; but other phones (for example sony ericsson) as well.

I see ... so do I press cancel or accept when i get that message ?

Temporary Solution (by Ryuuga)
You Will Need:
1) You will need to borrow your friends iTunes account temporarily.
2) iTunes 8.0.1 or earlier. (DOES NOT work on iTunes 8.0.2)

The Problem: After choosing "None" as an option, it still requires you to enter a valid credit card number.

The Solution:
a) Login with an existing friends account and download a free application.
b) When you sync, you will get an error "computer not activated" or something similar. Don't worry.
c) Go to [Store] on the top bar and find for "activate computer" or something similar.
e) Sync the application again, sync will be in progress.
f) After syncing, let the app run on your iPhone for awhile.
g) Once satisfied, go back to [Store] and deactivate the computer (your friend can then change the password or something to prevent you from accessing).
*Your friend gets keep his iTunes account. However, when you sync with your iTunes, the free app will most likely be removed from your iPhone.

Hey guys, I am on 1.1.4 and I am going to upgrade it to 2.2 I was just wondering, in the tutorial(iclarified) it doesn't say if I need to set the root partition, well should I? Or does it set by itself?

Problem Encountered : when take photo my photo becomes BLANK=nothin & inside my "photos" there is no picture"

Don' need to set partition. Quickpwn will set it for you.
Use BossPrefs and click More. Click Fix User Dir Permissions and select Fix Me.

whats the point of an iphone, if i cannot use it like a USB pendrive ?

sometimes i want to bring files to the shop to print, sometimes i want to copy music or videos from lab PC.

whats the point having a 16GB phone, but unable to utilize it. 16GB only for playing music videos and pictures is way too overated. i want it to function as a portable harddrive or a pendrive as well.
