Ooh might get me one of those next smile.gif Was considering the Dell, but to me the price doesnt justify it sad.gif
I prefer if the 3.5G was in the 904 or 900 series though. Did you see any like that ?

You see reason i like the 700, 900 and 904 ( and yes reason is a bit lame ).
All of them fit into my Khaki Pants. Into the pocket. smile.gif

Now the 901 and 1000H is a little different make, battery is different and all that and they Dont fit in my pants.
For me Netbook, can fit in my pants pocket smile.gif Which is why I stuck with EEEPC.
Also I have a lot of spares for the 700 and 900 but i also now feel that I need 3G in them.
No more of those Pods of Maxis and Celcoms that im using.

Any particular shop did you get them from mate ?

*
yea, 901 is slightly bigger, maybe you should consider buying bigger pant? tongue.gif

for the 901 3.5G version, you can get it in all singtel shop in singapore. it is exclusive to singtel only. wink.gif

if thats the case, i'll stick with my connect-to-phone-via-bluetooth-and-use-it-as-modem method, as I dont like to be tied down with one provider.

QUOTE(havocx @ Nov 28 2008, 02:25 PM)

Whoa hangy2k,
Im planning to buy it and use in Msia. Is it locked only to Singtel ?
From what I read the EEEPC's 3.5G modem is not supposed to be locked to a Service Provider.
At the price I would be purchasing ( ie your price at S898 ) would I also be signing up to a broadband deal like how Maxis is doing with its Inspiron Mini 9's ?

Bigger pants ? Waa kenot loo...my pants already so huge. smile.gif

*
singtel doesn't lock the set, you can use it with other provider. i plan to use it with celcom when i am at malaysia.

price S$898 is the retail price without signing any plan, but if you want to sign a 24 month plan for 2mbps, it is S$598 smile.gif

Schweet, does it require you to be a Singaporean PR or something funny like Iphone needs its buyers to be on their plan. Hmm 24month plan means ill be paying extra everymonth for something i dont use though the savings are about S$300.

Hmm interesting option this. Better yet that I am planning to go to Singapore soon for some shopping.
Ishk like this confirm cannot buy bigger pants liaw, the money im gonna spend for the EEEPC means ill be patching my current worn out ones leh smile.gif

Thanks for your info hangy2k smile.gif

*
anyone can buy, as long as you have money wink.gif

why not we start a list.

"the reason i liked eee more than other netbooks"
- built in overclocking system (asus hybrid engine)
- the touchpad gestures thingy (easy to scroll, zoom, rotate, etc)
- battery life
- ssd. most netbooks uses hd.
- bluetooth!

anyone else wanna add more?
*
wifi n and 3.75g module on 901 3.75g version biggrin.gif

Got it in SG, im planning to get me one as well. Comes with 3G, actually look up post by hangy2k and youll find the answers to your query. Im however interested to know how much was the SSD and it replaces the 8gb or 4gb on your 901? Im assuming your 901 originally came with 12gb SSD divided to 4gb and 8gb.  nod.gif

*
901 3.75G originally come with 16GB SSD divided to 8GB and 8GB seperately.. wink.gif

Thanks for the clarification mate. Erm id like to confirm tho.
The 901 I have ( which of course is different from yours ) comes with 12gb SSD. But they are 2 separate ones physically, one is a faster 4GB and the other a slower 8gb.

Mind giving more details of the original 901 3.75g ? Ie you mentioned 16gb, does it physically separate to 8gb x 2 or is it only partitioned in 2. Also assuming that its physically separated, how you only replaced one of them making it 8gb + 64gb ?

Very curious, cuz im planning another EEEPC project later biggrin.gif

*
it come with 8gbx2 physically. now i have 8gb+64gb, 8gb for the operating system. i saw somewhere saying that the 64gb is faster than any stocked ssd or other brand ssd, those people have disable the 8gb and boot OS from the 64gb/32gb ssd

Thanks mate, that looks about right smile.gif
Yeah on my system my 12gb system divided into 2 of 4gb and 8gb the difference is glaring. Installing Windows on the 4Gb takes about 30 minutes while on the 8gb it takes about 4 hours. The 8gb on mine is definitely VERY slow smile.gif Good insight and info on the 64gb SSD mate. Got any tips for me wheres best to get IT Stuff in SG ? I only know of Sim Lim Square which may or not be the correct place to be at biggrin.gif

*
yeah, sim lim square is the best place to get IT stuff. But the pci-e ssd i got is from a shop near lavendar MRT, they carry very limited amount of the pci-e ssd by RunCore.

here's the shop URL
