QUOTE(beebee @ Mar 2 2009, 11:26 AM) hi emino, care to add me as well? 701 user with nlite XP since last year, any other user with 701, care to share what OS, programs you using? Added. Sorry for the late response. I really not too fond of the small reso + Celeron 900 which suck the batery dry fast, but the portability is whats best, really light |

Actually upon boot theres an option to try it without affecting your current installation. I'm using that mode right now.

The other color choices will probably be sold in the upcoming pc fair though.
To new eee users, I would like to say welcome to the thread. Sorry for not updating the eee owner listings in a while, I've been extremely busy these past few days. Will try updating it later this evening. |

QUOTE(havocx @ Mar 27 2009, 06:58 PM) [size=1] I actually would digg the ssd ext hd. means that i can bang them as hard as i want without having to worry about internal disk damage. external, probably. The first accessory is an Eee PC external hard drive (or Eee Drive). From the pictures, the black glossy square drive has an extending USB port. Perhaps this will come bundled with smaller SSD versions of the system, or it will just be an added upgrade for those have used up all their mini-notebook space. ![]() But hey, we've already got an abundance of External 2.5" around with the largest going for about 500gb, from the size of those Id think they are SSD's. Personally for me then between an External SSD and External HDD ill choose External HDD since no matter how fast the SSD is it will still be limited to the 480mb transfer speed of the USB 2.0. |

QUOTE(Maximp @ Mar 27 2009, 08:51 PM) ...i went to bed with my desktop lol lol..kidding just never turn off only la haha Thank God for this invention called keyboard protector....wah never know eeepc so durable! haha i did spill some water onto my laptop before...cannot be saved..even though i dried the whole thing after that my keys and everything become crazy. One tip though, if you ever spilled anything on any electric/electronic device, quickly unplug it and turn it off, wipe it out, then blowdry it. And dont turn it on again till a day passed. Learned that from experience. My PC never been turned off, except for some restarts for windows updates and during holidays where I balik kampong. QUOTE(Maximp @ Mar 27 2009, 08:57 PM) I dont think I've ever turn off my netbook, except in case I spilled something on it. Just let it go to sleep. Maybe a couple of restarts in a week. Added on March 28, 2009, 11:54 am QUOTE(lily_butterfly @ Mar 28 2009, 09:46 AM) Been to Low Yat today and have a look at the 1002 HA. One of the sales man told me that the battery is 6 cells. He show me the battery and I noticed that it is 7.4V and 4800mAH. I dont think Lowyat opened at 9.46 AM ler... You must meant yesterday, rite?So 7.4v divided by 3.6 is 2.05 which round up to 2 4800mAH divided by 2200mAH is 2.18 which round up to 2 2x2 is 4 ......?!?!?! so the battery is a 4 cells battery not 6???? QUOTE(YO® @ May 10 2009, 09:40 PM) hello, can you guys help me on the eee pc. First of all, what KIND of students.I'm a student. planing to get an eee pc. ASUS EEE PC 1000 HE. is this pc suit for a student? (exclude gaming n photo editing) and from those threads, i heard a lot of sounds for the eee pc that the connection work not really good or what. this pc still has what problem with it? is this pc worth for me(a student) to get and use it? highly welcome for coment. thank you Architechture students would use AutoCAD, which is not that great with netbooks. Multimedia students would need to do audio and video editing, also not recommended. If just regular students using Office to make assignments and presentations, this is the best. Small and light, with longer battery hours for you to use at starbucks/mcd. |

The touchpad's button is irrelevant, once you've mastered the touchpad itself. One tap to click, double tap to double click, 2 fingers to scroll and 3 fingers to right click. The smart-pad software that comes with eee really is the best for portability pusposes.

New bag for my eee (I swear I have too many bags lol).
This one is quite cheap, just RM60-65 (I got it for 55 since I know the owner ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() But this bag is surprisingly very good. The room is spacious, you can keep the cables and laptop in the main compartment, and use the pocket to put quite many objects without it becomes too stuffy/tight. I manages to fit in my ext hd, ext dvd writer, ds and my bluetooth mouse in there! |

My 901 can run DOTA on even high settings. But pretty smooth on medium. But its hard to play on 9 inch screen.

I've read on an old The Star that reviews 1000HE that says it's 9 hour battery can fit in 901. Is that true?Because if it is, I'm tempted to buy it. My 901 battery had decreased in performance and now can only go maximum 3 hours. But to be fair, I always have my bluetooth and wifi on all the time. Sometimes I also use the laptop to maintain my phone power if i use it to surf the net.
