QUOTE(daneko @ Mar 17 2009, 12:16 AM)
That day when i go to test on the C3, i do test on S330 as well.  I do prefer C3 which give me the crstal clear sound. For me, the sound of S330 is not satisfy. For my own feel, i do think that the bass from the S330 still not that solid. Just a little bit of my feel on these two speaker. Now i am just wonder whether to buy the Z4 or C3.  icon_question.gif

Actually when come to speaker, the main issue i take account is the sound quality of the speaker. I like the sound to be clear and detail. C3 do satisfy me in this area. The second issue is the bass, C3 is a bit soft to me. For Z4, i just hear once, the first impression is that the sound quality is quite near to C3 but not as clear and detail as C3. For the bass, i do think that it will be better than C3, more solid. However, i just hear the Z4 for only once, so i do hope that those who have compare this speaker can give me a clearer advise on choosing these two speaker. notworthy.gif

Another issue i consider is that the price of Z4 is much cheaper than C3. But this is the last issue that will take account in my mind as i don't wish to buy wrong speaker again.  cry.gif

Is it alright for me to ask this question in Edifier Fan Club? Honestly i am a fan of Edifier also.  icon_rolleyes.gif

sound is very subjective, perhaps, you should try few more time. i myself definitely will go to s330 (actually, is already).
try audit at other place, maybe you was compared a burn in c3 with fresh s330. for me, c3, too dry.
compare within z4, s330, c3, in term of clarity, i vote for s330, in term of bass, after eq, s330 is damn solid, but dun expect it can wow like wolf (or cow?)

will edifier malaysia also offering such a price for s2.1m too? china's taobao selling at RMB500 only. LOL

ya, if only the factory set in malaysia, the HQ also move to malaysia, and then the labour cost and material in malaysia cheap as in china. by that time, it might really that cheap.

Thanks a lot for all your great advise. I will try to audit both of this two speaker soon. Thx ya.... appreciate a lot. Then have u guys compare Z4 and S330?

z4 is a full range satellite, one active 2 passive in each satellite, in term of music purpose, i dun really prefer full range satellite.
and, both are different class.
if you just only looking for tight bass, and doesn't know/care anything about the mid and high, then, z4 is definitely good enough, but if you are really good in listening music (audiophile), i don't think it will suitable for listening music.

the best solution, get both of them, movie gaming, z4; music, s330, techno, upmix 4.1, boom them.......

C3's satelites not only dry , is sibeh~ dry , haha,in another word, the treble sound not natural enuff, S330 will win easily if compare them side by side biggrin.gif  Here i have some tips for better bass in S330, raise up  the 55Hz in foolbar equalizer, find out which level most suitable for ur song. Not bad for me when listen to 'hokkien old song, laugh.gif

some addition comment, if for movie purpose, try raise the 80hz in the equalizer of your movie player or sound card.

55hz very low, it need to pack with 77hz if can, so that can remain the natural sound of impact and sound of kick bass of drum, but, however, this will affect the clarity of your bass line rhythm of bass guitar, have to be careful, don't simply raise till the top of the graphic, and it will not only over boost, but cause clipping. try not to more than 5db (3db is the most playsafe adjustment)

what's the best 5.0 speaker for edifier? thanks for the respond biggrin.gif
*
thr is no 5.0 system in edifier (correct me if i give the wrong statement), unless you willing to modify it, or turn off your the sub woofer. but if 5.1, for now, i think is s550, since s750 still not yet arrive.
but if budget, you can try r501 (still got cheaper, m3500, but not recommended, price not much diff), middle range, da5000.

For S530D, i found the the bass is better if place the subwoofer at 5-6inch from the wall. u can try that too biggrin.gif

if not mistaken, you are using the room resonance (echo?) to boost the wow effect of bass, so, overall, you will feel the improvement. this method will let your bass more "wet", not that dry, in the other word, not so harsh.
