plan to take out the amp part on woofer there and mod it....
will change:
1. signal coupling caps
2. opamp
3. caps on electrical path
dunno whether got other part that can mod which can giv better result... hmm.gif
hope can fin something can improve the performance with small cost/no cost...
like facing the port toward the wall which is learn from xk2... laugh.gif
**modding in a tight budget... doh.gif

thats what i intend to do too, but hard to find cheap caps and opamps in Malaysia, plus need high quality soldering tools and solder for best results... too bad edifier hard wire the satellite otherwise i would put better cables with better EMI rejection...current one so thin, easy subjected to EMI interference, but i did something to remove EMI from the speaker's power chord and audio cable...after that the sound became very dynamic, tighter bass...

the guide is here http://www.techsupportforum.com/hardware-s...-enjoyment.html

actually i had cut the cloth(correct word??)on the satellite...n found that the in front of satellite is a plastic+cloth part...
plan to replace it with a piece of MDF..
n....can take out the driver and the frequency divider(correct word??) too..
then can change the wire lo... laugh.gif

my cousin was looking a small speaker for her laptop.
her former vgp100 vaio speaker wasnt satisfying for its size.

so i suggested her to check the Edifier MP300 Plus. personally i never audition them properly. they sounded better than the previous MP300. their tweeter are also differ from the MP300 tweeter.

however it cost more than the MP300, i guess that's where the improvement from. finally she bought it yesterday. said it was excellent for such a small size. before purchase, i also let myself audition the famous x-mini II. it sound like a creep to MP300 plus, from low to highs.
that reminds me of my former white MP300, which i gave to my exgf. doh.gif

You can get it here - http://malaysia.rs-online.com/web/

Don't bother the solder, any solder will do, not much difference, and normal soldering tools will do, just get a good sucker, that's all. I guess the opamps on the circuit board is DIP type ? If it's SOIC type then you will need precision soldering gun i guess...

I see, I will open the woofer after my exams, next weekend I'm going Jalan Pasar get some stuff. Then shall start modding. This kind of stuff better do stage by stage slowly, without interference. Also because in case the outcome is not something u prefer, its easier and faster to roll back ; ) I'm not so sure about the circuit board also, will have to do some extensive research on the board, what opamps and cable produce what kind of sound signature, what caps have good power filtering etc etc. After exams biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

it is a DIP...
since edifier use a single layer PCB board..
wanna remind u buy a DIP socket too...
may help in swap the opamp...
hakko presto solder gun is a good choice too...
use a 62-36-2% eutectic lead if possible...
Lastly, gambateh for the exam o... icon_rolleyes.gif
i had finished my exam last month... cool2.gif

Well, i tried an old 1 which my friend lent me, the head is out of shape due to melting i guess, it don't s*ck sh1t laugh.gif Is there a s*cker with the head made of steel or something ? The smaller the head the better i think ?

I don't know much about this kinda thing but i do know that the tip of my cheap solder gun keeps getting bigger, the solder just won't go away, Hakko is good, not like the cheap China solder gun i used lol

Both S330 and C3 price are about the same, RM400+-. S530 is Rm699. D stands for digital where you get digital output on the speakers, I heard the D version SQ is better than the non-digital one.

Only if u connect it using Digital port, if both D and non D version of S330 are conect through standard RCA-3.5mm analog jack , they perform similar becoz the D version is jus a same speaker added with Digital input.

Firstly set the volume louder than normal (yes, LOUD), then you set the bass to maximum and treble max 3/4 (because high treble will pierce your eardrum)..then slowly reduce the volume and the bass/treble until you feel comfortable. But for basshead like you i suggest you set the bass to 9. This procedure is easy if you still have the remote control..

For me, I set my SW to +6, Treble +2/4 depends, Bass +2 smile.gif If you set the Subwoofer to 0. Your subwoofer bass will be very small.
