I see.

Hmm... 1st time see Edifier woofer uses a long throw woofer.
If i not mistaken long throw woofer means the woofer is the type that has large excursion?

Like most Edifier woofer now the woofer cone move a little, but sounds loud, disadvantage is low volume the woofer move very little, bass is hard to hear but at high volume it will be and advantage because it can go loud without bottoming out easily. Long throw woofer means the woofer will move quite a lot despite at low volume and long throw produces more loose bass, like the kind of bass in cinema, which is suitable for movies...

Is that the difference between a normal woofer and a long throw woofer?

i just use this speaker not more than 1 week. nice play on music and movies. it suits to my ear. just use default setting on the speaker mode(music/movies/normal/user) and shut down equalizer setting on my sound card. its sub woofer heavier than my broken enzo 7000 sub woofer. hope i don't have to invest more for another speaker in few years more. thumbup.gif

i also didnt find anything though very interested in it. my common sense would be long throw driver has more excursion to short throw subwoofer. but since the term "short throw subwoofer" doesnt even exist in my google search, i'd say it's probably just a marketing term, like PMPO, which is not really useful after all.

Agreed... How many mm/cm of excursion is long throw? Then how many is short throw?

Long or short, Edifier still rocks ; ) tongue.gif

S330 built in EQ producing this kind of surround effect , I think . My soundcard DSPs have this feature , I have to off it for music listening.

it looks like your soundcard got some accidental changes, such as some DSP effect, or polarity inversion.

to make sure, i suggest test the S330 using your mp3, ipod, cd player or even your phone.

does the sound like if the cable is loose, or cable is faulty, means + and - inverted.
