No, you're not stupid. It is just that, you will only get to see him walk past by you everyday and wait till the day he is grab by someone.

Unless, you start to learn how to approach him with just a simple Hi and smile~

Its not hard to smile anyway. Its the second best thing you can do with your lips.

Some guy is still 'some'. Shy or not, is not the case. It depends on how she approaches him. If it is done desperately, good chance the guy will sweat brix...

And just like i said before. If she still fear, then all she can do is to just wait him passing by her till the day he is grab.
