Hi all,

Just got my iPhone 3G 16Gb, but now realise it is from AT&T. Believe it should be from US version, and need a Flex Sim adapter.

Notice a lot of limitation, no video mode, no Cydia or Installer icon, don't even think the 3G is enabled as there are no other settings.

I am a newbie, hence have some enquiries as below;

1. Notice the software version is 2.0.1. Don't think this is unlocked yet, correct me if I am wrong.
2. If it is not unlocked yet, is there any software to unlock it?
3. Am I able to install the Cydia or Installer to enjoy the free download?

Appreciate for some advise.

Common problem using turbosim.
At times no service - just reset network. From Setting-General- Reset.
Or do not off the phone. Once the phone shut off it will take some time to search network then no sim will appear.
Certain version turbosim will support Celcom but not necessary will work on other telco.
I have changed my turbosim, 3X.

You see, the issue here is not about "commenting about people who bought US sets". I don't know if I'm speaking on behalf of those who opted to get full unlocked sets, but personally, it is about those who WHINED when their US sets coupled with whatever sim-adapter brands fails on them, and then cry like babies complaining in the forum. I have no problems with users like you who KNOWS what you are getting into, at the very least if glitches and problems do happen on your unit, you know that was part and parcel of using a US set with sim adapter, isn't it? icon_rolleyes.gif

The problem lies with those who EXPECT US sets coupled with sim-adapters to work AS GOOD AS full unlocked ones. Come on, you paid cheaper for your iPhones and expect it to work identically as those who had to save up and buy fully unlocked ones for their peace of mind?

So there IS a reason why folks here grew tired of those with US sets + sim adapters, but for users like you, I personally have no issues with. It is those who expect perfection when they did not pay for it, that I have problems with. Cheers!

Nothing nice about the explanation. Is all in the Pwnagetool and Quickpwn thread. Read and you will understand and what not to do and do. Simple.
