Dear,

I'm having problem on D-Link WiFi G USB Adaptor (WDA-110), it got x64 driver unfortunately it doesn't work properly with my router, D-Link DI-524UP.
Mostly of the time, it fail to get connect and the signal also looks inconsistence.

May I know what WiFi USB adaptor u r using for ur Vista x64?

Surprise! I could not find Vista x64 driver for WUSB54GC on Linksys support page.
Linkysys listed WUSB54GC as Vista 32 compliance only sad.gif

WUSB54GC Compact Wireless-G USB Adapter 32 bit TBD

I used to own WUSB300N but it fail to connect to my D-Link WiFi Router DI-524UP as well;
I also did google the connection between WUSB300N and DI-534UP, it seems both are not working well.

You may ask me why don't change to N router?
Because DI-524UP is bundle with Penangfon and ISP claimed that they did customize firmware on DI-524UP, other router may not work with Penangfon.

Is not easy on Vista x64. As I mentioned on my 1st thread, Dlink WDA-110 is come with x64 driver but it's not 'stable' under x64 environment, it keep disconnect or fail to connect.

Bot the Aztech WL230USB this afternoon @ the price of RM55, it seems the most cheapest WiFi G USB adaptor in town laugh.gif
I installed with the driver which released on v030407, then run the Vista Update, the Vista prompted for new driver update again.

The unit seems working well and looks more stable than my previous WDA-110 under Vista x64 environment icon_rolleyes.gif

Again, thanks to XiuKeong good advise notworthy.gif

Well, I have the drivers for this one.
Since I just bought this not too long ago... the cd contains drivers for Vista X64. Just not very stable only. Sometimes disconnect liao, it wont auto reconnect.

Linksys forum seem to have some answer.

I just discovered why the WiFi USB adaptor not stable on my desktop.

I'm running my pc 24*7, the USB adaptor is overheat which caused the signal unstable. Now I'm using WiFi PCI card, solved all my problems smile.gif

Yeah, I use Belkin G+ WiFi adapter... costs RM120 + I bought two of these... tongue.gif one for my old family PC and another for my sister lappy... both old

Connection really really good. Unfortunately, there is no official support for Windows Vista 64bit . The main site directs user to download Radlink Wi-Fi drivers. It still works, but there is a program running the Wi-Fi... instead of everything being 'naturally able to pick-up wi-fi signals'...

The signal is not stable only. You can compensate it with a good router.

Just bought a Dlink Extreme N router. I can say definately worth it if you are fed up with slow transfer speed. I used to get crappy 100kB/s transfer rate most of the time. Very seldom can reach 1MB/s. Was using DIR 300. After upgrading, transferring from my pc (with Linksys USB Wireless G) to my bro pc on LAN cable, speed was steadily 2MB/s+ whereas it was not possible to reach even 1MB/s. The most noticeable one was from my pc to my laptop with Wireless N card. Used to be around 100kB/s ++ but now 700-800kB/s. I tried to disturb it by trying to connect from my wife N85 and still it can send 600++ kB/s. Not bad...

I appreciated on your all inputs;

However, this is definitely not the ROUTER or BRAND issue; The actual problem is the USB WiFi adaptor overheat after 24*7 continuous running, because my desktop is running all day & night as download server.

I solved my problem by replacing with the WiFi Draft N PCI Card, I running non-stop more than 2 weeks without any issue.

Hehe...
My computer also run 24/7. So whether its adapter or router, I know better.
If you think its not range problem, then why you upgrade to Wifi-N?
Wifi N has better range, be it adapter or router.

When I was still using DIR300 (G router), I could get better transfer rate on my laptop than my desktop due to the built in N adapter compared to my Linksys G adapter. So the limit is the technology and not the brands. Why dont you use back your old card and borrow someone N router to do a test. You can get way better transfer rate using N router with G adapter compared to G router with N adapter. If you bought a N router, you can benefit a wider range of usage. The reason I recommend a N router is because it can do MIMO. Thats allow you to benefit the transfer from two devices which are using wireless connection at the same time. As a matter of fact, the transfer rate from my laptop to my desktop is 6times faster when using N router compared to when using G router.

G adapter -> G router -> N adapter = 100++ kB/s
G adapter -> N router -> N adapter = 800++ kB/s
