Imagine this 1 gadget already so mafan u need BT to another device then u need to charge both. Need everywhere u go u need carry the GPS bt.

When run out of battery both need to charge. Bluetooth drain more battery compare to build in GPS.

But for that price its a really good deal.

as though those paper maps tht ppl use have navigation.
*
i see ppl turn the entire map upside down also they still lost and dont understand thats where GPS comes in useful it brings u to the destination without the need of u understanding the map. Whats conclusion you reach your destination.

i think sometime GPS is a bit confusing. it took me a long route during one my trip to KL.

i like paper maps  tongue.gif
*
Long route could be your setting? Example nearest use tol but you untick tol the gps give u the right direction just longer or further?
Paper maps omg turn few turning you are even more lost then u need find sign to show where you are. Gps even tell you what road you are on. Maybe u havent test my GPS yet. YOu will be amaze i am just use GARMIN just the setting and map must up to date.

have u tried using any e-series from nokia before? if u havent, it's one of the best (and budget) e-series at the moment. e63's battery is 1500mAh (just like e61i and e71) while 5800 is 1320mAh.. pls keep in mind ure comparing a business phone to a media phone, so it depends on d main reason of usage.. either work or pleasure. smile.gif

icon wise.. i think it remains the same regardless if u change the theme. some ppl prefer animated and some dont, but i believe e-series icons are static. camera on the other hand goes to 5800 (3mp carl zeiss autofocus) since e63 is stuck with the same 2.0mp camera as present in e61i.

5800's 3.2" touch screen vs e63's 2.3" screen with qwerty keypad.. two different form of display and input. regarding OS, 5800 uses the latest Symbian OS v9.4, Series 60 rel. 5.. while e63 is using Symbian OS 9.2, Series 60 v3.1 UI.. as both are using the same processer speed ARM 11 369 MHz CPU.

5800 wins over e63 with two obvious features.. a-gps & secondary camera (for video calls). smile.gif

5800 XM wins E71 in many ways

1st 3.2inch screen
2nd Dual stereo speakers witth 3D surround
3rd Touch screen
4th 4 input method handwriting , FULL qwerty, mini qwerty, alphanumberic
5th Accelerator build in ( screen auto rotate ) , Accelerator games support ,
6th Web browser support fly aka support youtube.com videos
7th OTA it works like n82 can update using phone
8th It comes with memory perserve something even your update fail or after format u do not need to restore any backup
9th Comes with FREE 8GB MICROSDHC MEMORY CARD

Only different you must get used to virtual qwerty its really different from physical qwerty.

E71 wins over 5800 are as follows

1) physical qwerty keypad
2) Email interface
3) Homescreen switch in between
4) Nice scroll for internet
5) old OS so many software available for it.
6) Average speakers
7) Only free 2GB MicroSD card

Added on March 25, 2009, 8:05 pmoh yea...just to add....mobile web browsing on 3g, or on wifi is pretty smooth....on opera mini....youtube is cool too...havnt tried the built-in browser tho....

n i tried opening n editing word document....seamless....thumbup.gif

Added on March 25, 2009, 8:07 pm

thnx...it is lighter....but thicker....i thought thicker = worse but i cant imagine to type two-handed on the qwerty on a thinner E71...must be hard to get a grip....but on a thicker E63 its no biggie.... thumbup.gif

the downside is the camera no AF.... sad.gif  sad.gif

i love the e71 keypad i do not have any problem at all
user posted image

The reason E71 better than E63 because of the solid feel. The E63 like toy no grip because of plastic

how much I'm willing to spend is dependent on the phone. I've tried PDA phones and honestly they suck coz there are a lot of settings to be done before you can even check your email. Iphone also tested...best in the market but its too expensive for me. E series gives the best of both worlds but at a low cost. My only other worry is getting the blood free wifi outside when I really need.

I only don't like the camera on this phone, which without the AF is worse than my 3 year old phone...and the color. That's about it. Still thinking if I should add the 400 bucks for GPS on the E71.

Added on March 31, 2009, 4:30 pmbtw, I'm looking at the Nokia website...and it mentions that one of the applications is the Nokia Maps. This map feature is just the map without the GPS rite?
*
if u buy an external gps also cost 200-400

For me i own both E71 and 5800 XM the gps is really helpful man. I will never trade my e71 for an e63

If u deleter from phone and server, u will not retrieve back anymore in future!

Anyway, are u using Digi Edge? Maxis? or Celcom?
