QUOTE(jenmay @ Dec 3 2013, 12:38 AM) hey..is it true that we are not allowed to enter US without a return flight ticket? Depends on why you're entering. You will be allowed to enter the US with a one-way ticket if you have all the documentation required to prove you are a student at a US university, for example. If you're entering on a tourist visa, forget it lol

QUOTE(tan2013 @ Nov 27 2013, 11:10 PM) Hi there, is there anyone who did their own tax return for federal and state tax? Was that simple? Pls share ur experience if u did do it yourself, thank you.... You're referring to US federal and state tax returns right? The paperwork is not that difficult, but if you really wanted to, you can use TurboTax.

QUOTE(jenmay @ Dec 3 2013, 01:30 AM) Thanks... Im entering US via work and travel visa (under exchange visitor class)...so, do i need a return flight ticket? I looked around. I stand corrected. You are not required to have a return ticket, regardless of the visa you have, but you must have evidence of ties to your home country to demonstrate intent to leave after your authorized length of stay. You don't need a return flight.

QUOTE(wenzhenzhen @ Dec 7 2013, 10:40 PM) Thanks for the information. I still havent receive W2 form from my employer yet. If ask out of the box do, they will charge 10% of total tax refund. So far almost USD 600 goes to federal and state tax. Anyway I just received my last paycheck from my employer, I wonder if maybank accept my cheque from USA bank or should I go to Bank of America branch in KL to bank-in my cheque? I think you'll need to wait for your tax documents from your employer. You have until April to get your tax forms in. I recently asked my parents if Citibank in Malaysia takes a US bank cheque and they said no. So, based on that information, you'll need to go to the BoA branch to cash it This post has been edited by spunkberry: Dec 9 2013, 01:53 AM

QUOTE(timo1003 @ Aug 8 2018, 10:49 PM) Hi guys. Sorry i have a question to ask about baggage allowances which may not be too relevant to this thread but I i do hope i could get some assistance/answers here (tried Google and another thread popped up but the last reply in that thread was in 2014). Anyway, has anyone taken Southern China / Air China airlines from Malaysia to US (i intend to go to New York) here? I'm quite confused (or 'surprised'?) with the baggage allowance stated in the Southern China airline website. Is it true that for economy class passengers, you get to check in 2x luggages with each weighing a maximum of 23kg? I see that this is the same for Air China from its website (which is more clearly understood) but i would like to get some confirmation / answers from anyone here with some relevant experience.. Quite unusual for me to be 'allowed' 46kg on a flight with economy ticket 😅. Baggage rule for Southern China: https://www.csair.com/en/orders/order/kpxlgd/Baggage rule for air china: https://www.airchina.us/US/GB/info/checked-...ernational.htmlWould appreciate any help.. Thanks.. Edit: and if i fly from KL to Shanghai/Guangzhou with Southern China, would the luggage allowance then only be 1x @ 23kg ? Most, if not all, airlines allow 2x23kg check-in luggage for no charge on INTERNATIONAL flights.
