Hi, just to tumpang the thread. I'm going to Canada for studies in early September, and will be transiting through S. Korea (Seoul) and USA (Atlanta). I have two options - either a 3 hr 35 min or a 6 hr 35 min layover at Atlanta.

IINM, there are some immigration process to go through at USA even though it's just a transit, right? How long would it take? Do I need to opt for the 6 hr 35 min layover one? Or would 3 hr 35 min be more than enough?

Thanks.

Oh and to add on to it, I'm planning to get a travel visa for USA rather than just a transit visa. I've heard that if I have a Canada study visa, I should be able to get the travel visa for USA too even though I have no specific travel plans yet, since their neighboring countries? I plan to travel to NY some time in the future, but I might not be coming back to Malaysia before that, and it'll be a hassle to apply for the USA travel visa there. So.. was wondering if it's possible.

Ah I see. Thanks man! That would save me plenty of time. I thought there were some immigration process to go through as well even though it's just a transit. Guess I was wrong.

Oh, can't get the visa here, huh? Ah well sad.gif

It's obtainable there, but it'll take 6 months time sad.gif That's why I'm trying to see if I can get it here before leaving for Canada.
