if not update firmware got any problem?

dont ya think PSP is the gadget or game console which got the most "limited" editions release ever since PSP2000 era? I wonder how many % Sony earned through the sales of these limited editions

some homebrew applications require higher firmware versions. themes as well.
but if u think the current version is already okay and u dont feel the need to update the version, then nothing to worry about.
been running on 3.71 since i bought it, and updated not long ago. i dont feel any significant differences. just that there is a skype option, n..uh.. i forgot the added application.

that kinda struck me as well. simpsons, starwars, ff crisis core, god of war, jak n daxter.
but the prices only differ a little. i think they did it for the lulz.

guy i got the patapon2 sound file at3. U know in xmb the patapon 2 when it plays the sound? i wana convert to mp3 and set as msg tone

but then after googling for all the software and tutorial i still cant make it to convert.. any idea how?

The problem is I dont know how to convert I tried a lot of method, some said those game song cannot be converted. I also got no idea. The short xmb song is nice though, suitable to set as ringingtone

Hi , i am using a slim psp 2000, Running on Firmware 3.90 M33-3 and would like to upgrade to the latest one , 5.0 M33-3 .

How do i go about this? Do i need to upgrade to 4.01 then 5.0 or can i do it directly from 3.90 to 5.0 ? Also can someone point me to a guide? I remember reading it somewhere here , but couldn't locate it anymore..

Ok, here you go :

Note : There have been many cases of bricks upon upgrade,so it's up to you to take the risk.Otherwise,it's all good.


Requirements :
1)A phat/slim psp which has custom firmware 3.52m33-3 or any firmware above it.
*Minimum requirement is 3.52m33-3*

Guide

1) First of all,you need to set your kernel to 3.xx/4.xx.You can do so in recovery mode or in your VSH menu (if you have the VSH addon plugin installed)

**Recovery : Hold the off switch for 3-5 seconds,then HOLD R and boot your psp up.Now go to configuration,and click X at the "Game Folder Homebrew" option until it displays as 3.xx/4.xx kernel.Example : On a 3.52m33-3/4 psp,it should show as 3.52 kernel.

2) Download the 5.00M33 installer : http://exophase.com/files/psp/5.00M33.rar

3) Download the 5.00 eboot.pbp : http://exophase.com/files/psp/500.PBP

4) Use your preferred software to extract the 5.00M33 rar file.You should now get two folders (UPDATE and Translate) as well as a readme.txt file.

5) Copy the UPDATE folder and paste it in ms0:/PSP/GAME.

** It should now look like this : ms0:/PSP/GAME/UPDATE/eboot.pbp **

6)Time,for the 5.00 eboot (step 2).

7) Copy the 500.PBP and paste it in your ms0:/PSP/GAME/UPDATE directory.

** It should now look like this : ms0:/PSP/GAME/UPDATE/eboot.pbp and 500.pbp **

8) That's all,seriously.All you need to do now is to run the installer on your PSP.

** The installer will seem very official like,but don't worry,that's how it's supposed to be like **

9) Remember,once the update is over,PRESS X/O when it asks you to do so or your psp will brick!!

You're right. Virus(es) on your computer would not affect your psp system.

but then, it maybe trouble some (since it tend to runs weird installer thingie and may infect other ppl's pc )
