What is the best software to read chinese words in your computer? I used to use Chinese Star, but eversince i reformatted my computer, i lost the software, n when i want to install it , i lost the CD, so, im wondering if theres any free software to read the chinese symbols.

I tried using Microsoft Language pack, and because my sister screwed my computer up with an unknown Window, its not working for me

Thanks

try repair your windows, but before you do that pls back up your important files 1st. during repair session you can add back the supporting chinese language. hope this can help you. smile.gif

Actually i cannot read chinese font in XP folder but after i manually install language pack it it work fine.
You may try as below.

Start menu --> Control Panel --> Regional and Language Options --> Languages Tab select Install files for East Asian Languages then OK button --> Prompt you insert your XP installer CD and when finish install its will ask u to restart your PC. After restart you are able to read Chinese character.

Make sure your XP installer have Asian pack inside else will prompt file not found and error in installing.
