Hi chery community members, I've just got my car last Friday and have drove 800+ KM within 3 days. Really enjoy the car and just driving around without any purpose. Going to send for first service in 2 days' time. The following are defects found on the car, not sure anyone has the same problem.

1) Front Right side Dorr panel, plastic clip can't hold tight. After closing door few time, it disengaged.
2) Rear view mirror on windscreen is loosen and jerking. Can turn left-right via the mounting on the glass panel.
3) Dirver side, seat height adjustment knob, tercabut and can't fit tightly.
4) Centre console utility box, cannot engage properly, always open by itself.
5) Some jerking (like loose plastic) inside dashboard, not sure what is that. Anyone?
6) 2nd role seat, left side, cannot smoothly close (the folding area) after putting it flat. i suspect cannot engage properly too adter lying flat.
7) 3rd role, right side, the pulling cable is loose causing the handle from boot area open a bit and shaking when driving.
8) Driver side, compartment box underneath the dashboard, cannot close properly, can see some gap after close.
9) Alignment out, sway left. Steering wheel jerk at 100km/h speed.

BTW, first tank, RM 130 @ 1.90/l gave me 610km. It's 8.8 km/l.

The 8.8km/l is achieve via the following: -

1) 75% high way at 100 km/h speed (since it has not run in, didn't accelerate much), RPM kept at below 2700)
2) 25% town drive, start stop traffic, highest achievable speed is 60km/h.
3) No hard acceleration out from traffic light.

In fact just pumped petrol yesterday, it's 9.05 km/l.

It has a tripmeter, just press the dongle once.

Great to hear from you that that problem can be solved. I've this wind sound problem on front left when driving above 100km/h, perhaps my hearing is not as good as you and it should have also happened when reach 80kmh.

I found the one with roof rack is so much less stylish compare the one without. I hear from sales people in Penang that many customer has refused to accept even it is given free. Not sure how true is this. My personal opinion, won't go with the roof rack. BTW, I found that Penang SC is not very good in solving customer problems. I'm not sure anyone from Chery Alodo that can take some action & ask them to boost up their service level. I don't want to pin point which sales centre but there's only 2 in Penang, easily can find out.

They don't follow forums like this and yet telling me wind sound cannot be solved. Don't they know the world is flat?

My car after 1000KM service, problem un resolved. Not sure you can share with me how your SC solve the problem. I'm not very happy with the excuse SC in Penang is telling me. I think they wanted to avoid problems.

it is custom made, Dk Schweizer 's branch in Puchong already got all the measurements for Eastar's cover seat, it may take 3 days to prepare and one day to install. Since Dk Schweizer has its branch in Penang, i think you can order from Puchong and it can be straightly shipped to Penang's branch for installation. I talked to Penang brnach people at Dk but the quoted price is RM 2700 semi leather. Full leather will go to about 3400. Not sure what material & how you can get it done at 1K. Anyone can help?

I know it'll be cheaper by the dozen also, ful leather, RM 3200.

You have to give them a price and ask them to meet. I did that but anyway service in Penang is not very good. I'm not very happy with them. My first service item not even a single item solved.

Long time not in this forum but still reading through all the wonderful things that is discussed. Liu, I found the new service centre in Penang Island in Sungai Ara, that guy is good. At least responsive and no nonsense. The AutoBxNxx one sucks. I talked to him the other day and he's previously working for Cycle & Carriage. Because Eastar B14 construction is 70% European style, he's very familiar with all the constructions etc. Finally, some improvement in SC in the north. I'll be there from then onwards for my service.

Tips: when the service light lights up (little red spanner on the meter), you can always reset it in these steps.

1) push in ignition key, (don't activate it)
2) Push and hold the donggle (as if to reset the tripmeter)
3) While holding the donggle in pressed position, turn on the ignition right up till before starting the engine.
4) Wait for the red little spannar goes off.
5) Off the ignition and release the donggle.
6) Your little red spannar is off till 5000KM later.

Try this.

Aircon condition as mentioned by Drom is true - This is achieved when your setting as manual (not in automode) and temperature at 26C or above in Malaysian condition.

If you set temp to 25.5 or lower, this scenario won't happen.

I suspect CE installed both heater and cooling system similar to Europe Spec.

Steptronic will auto downshift but not upshift. This is perhaps due to too low RPM and not enough power when the speed is too slow. However, try during traffic jam, once it downshifts to 1 and you push it back up to 2, it won't downshift anymore. Quite an intelligent system.

There're two SC in Penang island, Indeed yes, the new SC in Sungai Ara (Penang Island) is good. The other one sucks like hell.

May I know which manufacturer on the car seat cover? I'm going to Beijing Next week and may carry some back.
