Yes..it is damn low according to my SA- Linda, she said all this while applying load for her customer, never get this rate before..ha ..ha lucky me. : D . i saw the sport rim before at HQ..back yard..new car they put it over there..capture the pic..with my phone..unfortunately .. i lost my phone. sad.gif yesterday..

About yr statment..anyway once you use 18 inch rims..filled with Nitrogen gas ..allow me to ask...refering yr tyre ? or ..

Dynasan..have U recieved yr MPV ?

MAnnn...18 rim and tyre ....too expensive ... let's C , anyway our first TT ???..will everybody take part ??

yes, got it and had been driving for the pass 1 week. the car performance is good, only the interiors are quite bad, gap here and there...had been going to the service centre for adjustment but can't really help as based on them it is due to the moulding etc. Saw the new batch with roof rack, the quality seem better than mine...
Problem found:
1. fogging on the headlamp
2. gap on the left SRS airbag
3. gap on the glove box
4. front right door not properly assemble
5. rear wiper alignment
6. reverse light defect
7. hand brake alignment
8. high beam light alignment

hope their QC can be improved or else, they'll definitely losing the confident in their new customer...

will write up a review on this car once I'd the free time as now I'm in the middle of an urgent project... sad.gif

4. front right door not properly assemble-explain further taikoh ....
the door was not properly aligned to the mud-guard surface, out but 5mm. you can see it physically and if you touch from the mudguard all the way to the door area, you can feel it's bump out. fixed and aligned but still about 1-2mm out, as the service guy said it is the best they can do...sad.gif

5. rear wiper alignment-after you use it will not place back to the right place ????
yes.

6. reverse light defect- only one reverse and rear fog lamp is on - standard for chery MPV ....salesman told me....
the plastic cover on the reverse light is defected as you can see the bulb inside very clearly (one big dot)...service guy say that as long as the light can be turned on, it is ok...eventhough he know it is defected.

7. hand brake alignment-care to explain further
even you pull up all the way, the car will still skid down on a minor sloppy hill, adjusted and now seem ok.

8. high beam light alignment-got switch for levellling right ?? or high beam is too low.....
it's the high beam too low (on my right-side), asked for adjustment but came back the same...I think most of the service guy is just playing in the workshop!

how about the allignment????? when you lepas tangan .....go straight or go left ?????
yeap, went to left, complain about this and they did a alignment but the results still the same...also comfirm this with another guy who did the service, same problem although been send to alignment

I think their service centre at PJ need to be refined and improved as the guy who did my car had made all those black marks all over the interiors when they try to adjust the glove box and adjusting the interiors part...out of 10 items complained, only 2 got it done, the rest...that's all the best we can do....darn!

overall, i expect they have a high standard in term-of customer service but ended up the same as PROTON...or even worse....

Oh! saw a chinese guy at the PJ service centre seem to be a Chery technical expert, but not even care to talk to the customers to find out their complains or comments on their new Chery ...
can anyone here in this forum who are from Chery can advise on all those finishing problems and defects....CTO, CEO, COO ???

Chief, sure...no problem, but now I'm hooked with an urgent project, maybe will be free after next week, will call you for a TT...maybe can meet at the PJ service centre as I need to send my car for more rectifications !!!

another defect I found...
the rear side windows had some defect mark (40%) which cannot be rub-off, like oil stain...if looked at some angle, it's looked like rainbow colour. anyone had this problem??
called the SA, he told me that it is a glass defect and need to bring back to the service centre (not sure need to be replace or not) as he found a few car from the same batch had the same problem as well...if need to be replaced, who will pay for the tinting again...haiyah...so unlucky...

Added on November 26, 2008, 4:29 pmChief, regarding to the nitrogen filled tyre...is it good?...do we need to refill it often? planning for that if it is more comfortable...
Also, what is your usual FC? as for myself I'm getting like 350km for a full tank (61+ litres) RM120++...pure city driving

I don't think they will go for the fiat as they'd their own Acteco engine. welcome all new Eastar owner...you'd made the right decision...see the thumb up from our new PM during eastar launching smile.gif

another tip for all new owner...if the windows are not winded up after you'd pull up the ignition key, you can remotely wind-up by pressing the lock key button at your remote...cool!

QUOTE(azazza71 @ Dec 5 2008, 04:24 PM)
Hi All,

Today is the 7 days i drive my MPV. So far there is only few that em encounter like headlamp fogging , dashboard noisy. It's all solved except one..i have been to service center for 3rd time including today regarding this problem ..it is about my breaking system i guess..

First time em encounter there is a noisy and my car wont go smoothly even i step more on the accelerator pedal. They check and found nothing.. Em going back and again the same problem but the next day without a sound. Now they found that front brake on left hand side was jammed. They service the brake including they do bleeding on the front left side brake system.

Today it's happen again...on my way to work..i feel that the MPV wont move smoothly...for RM 100 that i pump in ( rm 2.00 ) per liter early this week..almost touching last bar of fuel indication now left 1 bar em only get 220 KM. First tank when i pump in the fuel ...it reached 70 liter.. but em only get 400 KM ( left 1/2 bar from fuel indication ) . It should not right?? As what you all said beforeĀ  for RM 100 should get 450KM.

Anyone facing this problem before??
*
think I saw u at the service centre today, anyway I think it is normal by getting around 400km per-full tank (city driving). At this moment I can only reach around 350km++ for a full tank, maybe I need to go thru the massive jam everyday. another guy I asked, he managed to get 600km per-full tank shocking.gif
good luck with your brake...

Another tip for new Eastar owner, you can set the clock display in your radio/CD player, press ASST and hold it for 5 seconds, then enable the clock setting....

386, amazing...on your FC. Can you describe more details on your driving mode, speed etc... to reach this mileage?
Hope all Easterian can report on their FC in this forum for reference.

Anyway, for your problems, I believe the SC can fix it, just need to be there as early as 9am as there're more cars going to the SC nowadays...probably you need to wait 3-4 hours for each car. Another common problem, fogging on the headlamps...to solve it one sealant need to be removed...the SC know about it, just need to let them know if you're encountering this problem.

Good Luck!

Dynasan,

The 8.8km/l is achieve via the following: -

1) 75% high way at 100 km/h speed (since it has not run in, didn't accelerate much), RPM kept at below 2700)
2) 25% town drive, start stop traffic, highest achievable speed is 60km/h.
3) No hard acceleration out from traffic light.

In fact just pumped petrol yesterday, it's 9.05 km/l.
*
386, you calculated your mileage manually right, as they are no tripmeter in Eastar, anyway look like you did take good care on your car, before my first 1000km, I'd already push to 150km on the highway, now felt a bit regret...

azazza71, how is your problems on the braking, solved?

Another problem I found in this Eastar (not sure whether it is a design defect), try to start your engine and run it for around 15-20 mins, then only switch on the Aircon, the AC compressor will not start (no cold air). Anyone had this problem? Checked with SC and they found some connector faulty and replaced it but the problem still present. Only way to solve it now
1. Always switch "on" the AC after you'd start the engine
2. If the problem arise, switch off the engine and then wait for 5-10 mins & switch back the AC once the engine is started.
note: you can hear a click sound when the AC is switch on to confirm that the compressor is working

If the compressor is not switch on, and you kept the engine running for a while, you can feel that the engine compartment is overheating, you can touch the engine bonnet on both side to feel it.

Chief (Enigma), did you had this problem on your car?

huh....why mine doesn't come with it....anyone can confirm on the first batch delivered in Oct/Nov (without the roof rack)

Added on December 11, 2008, 10:23 pmTalked with the SC regarding to the AC problem and they need to replace one defect part and to them it is a known problem... sad.gif
Thought they should do a recall to check all the delivered car.

Zaizu,
yeah, the tripmeter can just tell you the mileage after you'd reset it but will not give you the km/liter calculation like in most car had, right?

Azazza71,
For the wind sound, I'd this as well but I thought it is normal? No? , let me know if the wind sound can be solved by the SC. After the braking had been solved, the FC is improved? I'm still getting less than 400km for a 60 litres (average speed @ 80km @ 2000rpm)
