^ What he said.

It's a very subjective thing. You can't really say which is easier over the other.

nth it easier... practice makes perfect, just that u need to handle 2 more strings for electric guitar compare to a common bass guitar

i play them both, i find both have their ups and downs smile.gif
but in my opinion bass isn't all about technique and flashy stuff(more common to guitarists) but its about the groove icon_rolleyes.gif

IMO bass is easier to learn and play basics. Both are just as difficult to master.

beginning part, i think bass would be easier.
coz its notes n stuff, not like guitar which has chords.

but as u get to a higher level, they're pretty much the same.
there's not one thats easier than another.

cant really compare it that way.

In a band setting, playing the bass has it's own challenges which are very much different from what a rhythm/lead guitarist would face.

haha agreed. the bass and the drums of course lays the foundation for which the other instruments can build on.

the guitars, well he just plays whatever he wants tongue.gif

For those of you who think that playing bass is easy, try playing some Dream Theater with it.I hate it when people who don't play bass says playing bass is easy.Slapping and popping sure ain't easy.Just because it usually lacks of the extra 2 treble strings doesn't necessarily means it's easier than guitar.

To the TS,if you love the guitar, play it.If you love bass, play it.It's totally up to you.Don't hesitate to learn a certain instrument you love just because it's hard. There's no such thing as an easy to learn instrument.

Neither is easier than one another.

Guitars are more on chords, and bass is more one basslines.. and both are equally important.

Go try out bebop stuff... ;D
