hey ben!
no no...not just tat..
think again..
the track profile for KTM, LRT those monorail..all are different..n if u see properly when they did the planning...there is no profile of integrated system ...all on different system.
to solve n provide best trasnport system is to actually allow 3 of those light train to work as one..then rather * try to provide more job n busineesss* ..
msia govt actually make a loss when they bought the transport system from those private company.
hey keiko!

I was refering to rolling stock purchase...
KTM track existed long time already and it was built by the British orginally...thus the metre gauge was there and in 1980's, the government double track and electrify the lines......thus, it's a valid reason...
LRT exists for one valid reason, it is different than KTM, because it is urban rail, not like KTM which is for suburban/ regional train...
Different rail system is a not an issue, as each system is suited for different situation, for example the monorail is more feasible inside dense CBD because it takes less footprint and less time to construct...
What is in question, the integration, and i mean the interchange....classic case?
KL Monorail to KL Sentral
Bank Negara to Bandaraya
Bukit Nanas to Dang Wangi
Simply too tiring to walk!
