i suggest u don't live with it.....jus take it to any authorized resellers n check the problem....they might change a new one for u....
i've experienced this before on my ipod classic......just a tiny dead pixel....i tried to live with it.....but it's just so annoying...
decided to go sunway machines and they change for me without hesitation...

I'm using voip stunt in fring application....i can make calls(i can call my home telephone, but sadly cannot call mobile phones, don't know why....)
here's step-by-step guide...
1. Go to Voipstunt and download the software to your pc
2. Once installed, register and create your account(include your phone no. as well)
3. On your ipod touch, go to fring>more>add-ons>SIP>voipstunt
4. Sign in your account information.
5. Once you have successfully signed up, go to dialer and type your phone no.
6. When typing your phone no, remember to include the country code as well....
7. Eg, if telephone no. in selangor should be 603XXXXXXXX, wait for a while and see your telephone will start ringing!
