Hi Guys,

I have been following the post tightly. I got a few question hope you guys can clear my doubts.

Q1. I read a potential number of ipod touch 2G buyers still waiting it to be jailbreak-able before deciding to buy it. Can we buy it 1st, then jailbreak it (when its available) later? Dont understand why some of them is still holding their horses back.

Q2. Based on Apple sales trend, will Ipod 2G price be reduced? until the next gen came out (Ipod Touch 3G) which is most probably a year later?

Q3. Referring to above question, what is the best promo to buy Ipod TOuch 2G from Malaysia?

Q4. For 1st Ipod user like me. I believe the below accessories is required (sort by priority).
a) Screen protector -Invisible Shield or Best Skin
b) Pouch - Moshi Pouch : Epicentre or other retailer still have buy 1 free 1 promo?
c) Ear phone : Apple In ear headphone would probably hit RM300. Do we really need this or is there any alternative?

Thanks
*
Q1 - Yes u can.. Its juz a matter of time b4 jailbreak is available for 2g touch.. Don't know y some ppl juz hold their purchase juz to wait for jailbreak

Q2 - Unless the announced Ipod Touch 3G yesterday(which i din know of tongue.gif ), the price will remain the same for quite awhile

Q3 - Best promo..? I think online apple store Malaysia is giving away some freebies if not mistaken.. If u don't mind better to buy it online, cheaper..
I got my 32gb for only rm999 brand new.. Try look around for good deals.. smile.gif

Q4 - Yes, would be best if u can put body protector and a pouch as well to absorb shock in case of a fall.. For the earphones its best to upgrade to better earphones as apple's is crap.. Do not get the apple in ear earphone as there are many better earphones out there for that price.. biggrin.gif

If you update, everything will be gone but you can always sync back all your stuff with your iTunes. Or you can right click your iPod Touch on the left side and press backup.

After update you can restore from back up. That's the other alternative.

And for your Q2, before you format your com if you wanna keep your iTunes Music, Videos, Pictures etc you'll have to back up a few files before you format.

Back up Itunes folder from My Music, iPod Photo Cache from My Pictures and after you format, paste it back to the same directory and you'll have all your songs and pictures.

Hope this helps. Cheers bro

No if update iTunes will automatically make a backup for u

So everything will be automatically restored by iTunes

ipod touch uses lithium battery.
lithium batteries like to be topped off.
i try not to let the battery meter reach half way. do not 'deep cycle' lithium batteries (run them to almost flat)
when i see the battery is a bit down, i charge it. smile.gif

the following are myths (bullshit) about lithium batteries:
1: first charge must charge ipod overnight.
2: keep the ipod plugged in 24 hours a day.
3: run the battery flat once a week/ two weeks/ month.
*
Wrong.. let the batt meter reach half way n charge is incorrect... wink.gif

Best is when ipod is at 20% batt.. All lithium battery is like that including handphones..

Bout the myths what u say is true.. smile.gif

Oh, so let's say I authorize my brother's PC under my email.
So, he can use his PC iTunes and sync the application to his iPod too?
Uhm, but from what I know(no offence), it's better to completely finish the battery
before you charge it due to the capabilities of the battery to store currents?
*
No offence but that only apply to Ni-MH and Ni-CD.. Pls google.. smile.gif

Lithium batt need some charge in the battery to maintain a healthy batt...

Bottom is the guy who was asking for your source.
I just went through http://www.batteryuniversity.com/ and it clearly stated that.

Refer this page regarding lithium battery.
http://www.batteryuniversity.com/parttwo-34.htm

Interesting... The article wrote that there is no memory effect in lithium batt which i agree but then they wrote that lithium batt can be used between 300-500 charges...

Dosen't that contradict the first fact..? hmm.gif
