Sealed subs are faster but generally dont go as low - basically better for music listening.

U can use a rolled up sock as a plug, all u need is to slow down de air movement caused by the driver.

I am usin tat on my PB12plus too but then again I m not into music..

I dunt 'retune' anytin on de amp cos I hv calibrated all along wif de plug in..

I read sumwhere tat its not recommended to port all plugs in a ported sub .. sumtin abt shortenin de life of de driver or sumtin like tat..

But then again, if it works for u..

Oso de airplane fly by while de kids playin cricket scene and most of de train scenes too .. oso gud is de final bollywood sing song - sumtin ho.. cool..

Its surprisingly 'hot' track for subs.. dunno why.. I mean its a drama sort of flick.. cum to tink of it Saawariya (another hindi based film) is also bass hot

Cuming from a 3 yr old PB12+ owner.. de price offered here for delivery to house of an SvS sub is pretty reasonable..
We oldbirds who bought thru Sg had to wait a hell of a long time for delivery thou' it was cheaper back then..

Tis is based on my research eons ago..

Basically a bigger driver will hv less prblms achieving a stated spl and also a lower frequency but in subs a bigger pwr amp section helps as well .. I remember there is one 10inch model wif a 1000wt(svs pb12+ uses a 300+wt amp only) amp driving it and it was pretty gud too but it cost more back then (forgot wat model liao..)
Then there is de argument of fast and slo drivers in sealed n ported designs too but tat is another story..

To be fair, there are other budget(uhm budget for USD la) sub brands now in de US besides svs but it wont be proper to talk abt tis on tis thrd..
suffice to say a 12" svs sub is more than sufficient to fill de avrg malaysian living room..

If budget constraints.. then no choice la .. 10 inch svs is better than a lot of other 12inch subs liao..

But I figure once you hear a 12inch wan after ur own 10incher .. then there'd be prblms..

Yup.. SvS will always be a niche 'product' but it is kinda nice to see more of it here, nowadays.. instead of impressions like 'eeyer why u buy such a brand - china wan ah.. buy velodyne la US wan woh..

I calibrated both my subs(pb12+ n an ol 10incher..) together for a 5db overhead but most of the time (its sufficient wif jus one sub on..), I ll jus on one sub to watch n its usually the bigger one - when de svs bottomed out at 6/7db below reference, I lowered de gain n on'd d other sub to compensate a bit.. still shiok - not svs shiok la but boooomm still la

-17/-18 on my 7002 - reference lvl is at -12 so I was way below reference but stil bottom liao..

On de pricing .. I dont see wat de fuss is abt.. tats jus wat bro Lightning quotes in de UK.. dont necessarily mean u can get same pricing in Mal.. at least I n my usual adolescent mind can see tat..
I got my pb12+ for slightly over 4k abt 3yrs back (thou' tis is ex sg) .. no person in his right mind would tink abt gettin de same price now, rite? I for one am glad there is local svs representation now.. kudos for HTkaki..

On de 220v surchrge, could it be sum Mal cert tat is needed?
