yup going to attend for this year's event as well

Great i hope a lot more ppl will turn out to support this event.

anyway, in case some ppl don't know what this is about, the details are as below:

Date: 2 November 2008
Venue: Taman Tasik Perdana (Lake Gardens).
Time: 8.45 am.(Flag off 9.00 am)
no charge to participate in Terry Fox Run but donation is by buying Terry Fox run t-shirts (RM25/piece), contributions are tax exempted.

Origin of run: Terry Fox RunTerry Fox knew personally, the importance of the need for cancer research. At the age of 18, he was told that his right leg had to be amputated above the knee as a result of bone cancer. During this crucial period, Terry saw the intense pain and despair of other cancer victims and was deeply moved. In order to raise funds for cancer research, he decided to run across Canada asking for donations. This became ‘The Marathon of Hope’?. Terry Fox died before he could complete his crusade, but his legacy is carried in the hearts of all who participate or donate to the Terry Fox Run each year around the world.

T-shirts can be purchased at:
1) Ms Chan Siew Wan / Ms Lee Siew Bee at the Canadian High Commission, 17th Floor, Menara Tan & Tan, Jln Tun Razak (6th October onwards)

2) Ms Yoon / Mr Peter Kang at the Cancer Research Initiatives Foundation (CARIF), 2nd Floor, Outpatient Centre, Subang Jaya Medical Centre (6th October onwards)

3) Ms Tila at the Foyer, Ground Floor, Menara Citibank, Jalan Ampang (12.00 to 2.00pm, 20th October until 24th October)

4) 1 utama (new wing) on the weekend 25 and 26th october from 10am to 8pm

5) At the Lake Garden on Run Day (2nd November 2008)

special note: Terry Fox run is a leisurely family event, you can run, walk, skate, bicycle...in fact anyway you like as long it involve you moving your own legs. As stated, this is a charity event to raise funds for cancer research therefore, there are no prizes given out.
