Depends. If the stay is long, I bring the M15X. Need to catch up on the PC games I've missed the last 3 years. MBA if the stay is short, and if I plan to move around while I'm away there at my nightstops. Australian nightstops are idea, since I move around a lot while I'm there. Long stay nightstops like Frankfurt and God forbid, boring old Mumbai and Johannesburg, I carry along the M15X. Mix and match.

What is the point of having a LAPTOP, if it stays in the house only? Might as well get a DESKTOP than a LAPTOP. The whole point of a LAPTOP is making it portable and its ability to be transported everywhere.

Are you saying:-

Other Brands = Expendable, Alienware = Too precious to be carried anywhere?

The Americans had been commuting with the Alienware since, on subways in Manhattan or elevated trains in Chicago. No point calling it a laptop, if it stays on a desk. That defeats the purpose it is built for.

Ermmm, not it's not. Alienware still is and remain a premium product. The American , they are no different than us, and their laptop choices and consumption too depends on what's available in the market, they also have cheap laptops from Dell and the likes. However, they are different in the fact that they make full use of their purchased products as it is intended, not babying it. To them, it is a waste and against the advertised design of the product to not use it as intended. They are a very practical-minded people.

It's more mentality than anything around here. Some people just can't stand seeing others with better things than them, they'd resort to stealing them, be it cars, money or laptops. If freedom of expression and possession is not upheld, sooner or later you'll everyone wearing bland singlets, shitty pants and selipar jepun just so that he doesn't get mugged!

Conform to the masses or risk being in harm's way? Sounds like Communism to me.

It's a matter of notoriety when it cones to places overseas. Frankfurt is pretty much safe, but place yourself within the seedier redlight district, and that pseudo sense of safety crumbles away. Same as Australia. Pretty safe but try opening up your prized laptop in rowdy bars or Surfer's Paradise at night during binge-drinking sessions, then you're asking for trouble.

So logic dictates that you to your computing within safe confined of a private home or establishments like hotels. Also, thugs don't hang out in Starbucks. They may spy you while you're in one, but be commonsensical and avoid areas prone to crime areas lah.

Yup, none of those bulbous hanging out battery bullcrap. If you want something hanging out, it shouldn't be your batteries. tongue.gif if you know what I mean. brows.gif

I'm kinda worried that it'll happen to my unit too sad.gif

Ordered one 2.5 weeks ago and received it from Ireland here in Holland 2 days ago.  Super nice design and works like a charm. No Hinge problems, doens't even make the sqeeking sound with opening the lid.

When playing Crysis it tends to get very warm but doesn't affect the gameplay. Putting some wood under it and the heat is almost gone.
Gonna buy smth for it these days. Untill now I am very happy with it except that I still don't like Vista. But that has nothing to do with the AW itself hehehe

Congratulations! Post up in the Alienware Mothership thread to list yourself as one of owners of this out-of-this-world laptop. rclxms.gif

Sorry to interrupt. But according to dell website the price listed for Alienware m15x is $1,199. So i believe we were just wondering what's the actual price if it is to be sold in Malaysia.
*
Dell is not going to sell the m15x here. The m15x is almost 2 years old, they had better wait till Alienware releases the new 15" laptop by the end of this year.

The previous poster was asking how much and is the m15x available in Malaysia. All that info is posted on the first post. No point answering a query that already been answered in this thread. All he needs to do is a simple Search.
