If 2 out of 3 got RNS, then the 1 which is ok, better don't mix it together.

how old is ur star ?
try blending the hay or cut into very small pieces and mixed with their favourite vege..or starve them for few days and then only feed hay to them tongue.gif
it's fine that they treat it like bedding..i use hay as bedding too biggrin.gif

1 is 1yr plus and one is over 4yrs dy...they grow v slow...both haven even reach 3 inch..i try to chop into small piece and sprinkle on top of their food...bt anythin fishy on top of their food, they rather nt eat n starve....same if i sprinkle vit D3 can calcium...

my star is very choosy over food and it's nt healthy to giv such a limitation type of vege to them....

currently i giv them variety of vege everyday,bt they only choose the one they like... i offered rosemary, sawi, kailan, carrot, celery, brocoli, french beans, long beans, chinese cabbage, thyme, parsley, i even try to giv them flower petals(like hibiscus,rose,crys).......bt so far, they only take french beans, long beans(only the juicy ones),carrots, and sawi(sometimes) which is reli nt a good balance diet....jus hope they accept it one day...if i chopped all n mix, they'll jus leave it....how long shud i starve them? hmm.gif

Thanks administrator, I am now finally able to log in and read all the useful advicxe given by our Malaysian aficionados. You guys are so lucky to be able to keep so many varieties of turtle and tortoises.
Out here, our Singapore  govt. only approve the keeping of Red Ear Slider as pets.
I go to Johore Bahru very often, and one day I will try to get a star tortoise back

Singapore used to be such a heaven for such exotic stuff (quite a while back ie early 1990s to even late 90s )!! In most pet/fish shop you will be able to see 10s of 10s of baby Indian star offered for sale (If my memory serve me OK I think 80-120 a pc )

Where in Malaysia then the most exotic is Iguana or Hamster ...

mornin,

oledi went to other vet for 2nd opinion. went to Dr. Vellayan.

Dr vel sed all the babies are infected with mild RNS. and develop soft shell especially simon. doc run a test on the babies fecal. all the babies infected with protozoa bacteria & pinworm. n tis is all happen bcos the babies were very very young and fragile.
Dr. vel oso showed us how to practise handling all the medicine for us to gv to the babies.

1. we have to soak them in diluted potassium magnet with tap water
for 20 minutes everyday.
2. then we hv to drop an antibiotics (baytril) on the babies nose.
two drops every each of them, 4 times a day.
3. a drop of vitamin 1 times a day. and carbonate calsium to mix with
their food.
4. after done with the medicine. must put them in standin position to
make sure the med were in. all of tis must been follow for 7 days

so far all the babies responding very slow.. their sleep a lot. don eat as well.. all we can do rite now is praying that the babies will make it eventually.. hope u guys will pray for our little babies
