not so much from this season.. i shifted all of them res to new enclosures and they took some time acclimating. some are agitated and some big ones gone aggressive. got few offspring but next season should be better.

some stupid worker also managed to burn big specimen (40cm+) to death while clearing up land. (which is pretty f#cked up since i never authorize the use of fire).

the good news is some CB land bound res already seems interested in the opposite sex, and some hill-dwelling res are back in the oil palm plantation after been missing since the flood early last year.

should be emysking!!! haha

of coz....how to beat that kind of collection. needs time and $$$ to beat that amount.

SANDAKAN: The marine police have cracked their biggest case of turtle egg smuggling this year, with the seizure of some 10,000 eggs from the Philippines.
Four smugglers were unloading the eggs, worth about RM28,000, from a speedboat in the Kampung Forest beach area on Sunday night when a team of policemen arrived at the scene at 8.15pm.

On seeing the policemen, the smugglers panicked and escaped in the boat, leaving 20 sacks of eggs on the beach.

Acting Sandakan marine police chief ASP Muhammad Sallam Spawi described the seizure as the biggest this year.

He said marine police had increased operations to eradicate smuggling of the eggs and prevent its illegal sale in the district.
"Initial investigations have revealed that a syndicate obtained the eggs from several islands in the Philippines. While the syndicate is masterminded by foreigners, the locals sell the eggs in Bandar Sandakan for as much as RM2.80 per piece."

Saw two hatchling STs at a pet shop in Butterworth today...around two inch and are sold for RM300 each...one is burmese star and another one indian star

It couldnt be wrong...what i saw was really a burmese star...the boxy pattern with slightly light yellow was totally different from the indian star...wasnt a leopard either...you could recognise it at a first glance...and whats wrong with burmese stars? They are quite commonly sold in northern region...provided you have the cash that is...but RM300 is a bit expensive for a star...be it the indian star or burmese star

Well then...so far as the supplier of the burmese star is concerned...there have been specimens being imported from Taiwan...those specimens are all captive bred...cool huh...

Not really...the radiata hatchlings are sold for US2grands plus in the overseas...but in penang...you could get it for around RM7xx...if you really tour around the pet shops in our northern region...you will really be shocked...and do you know that there was a batch of diamondback hatchlings being sold for RM8x per piece in Penang and Butterworth? Dont just follow the prices in central or southern region...

Dude...im a burmese ST lover and have been hunting around for this sp for years...i could be mistaken sometimes but you think i would make this sort of joke in front of you the gurus? That one on the most upper second right grabs my intention the most but its caraspace pattern does not really seem convincing to me
