All animals get stressed to some degree in any kind of exhibitions. Ive been to some cat's competitions and even those domesticated creatures get stressed. Just coz they seem placid or docile does not mean they arent stressed. Being in captivity itself is already stressful. Anyways, im sure SPCA has the best interest at heart when it comes to animal.
there's a difference between stressing out for being in captivity and stressing out for being constantly provoked. that mistake was no big deal actually once it is corrected, but think of the wrong message that SPCA had sent to the public.
if i had not raised the issue here, many people would still think that the husbandry provided was valid.

we've changed from 'discouraging' to 'being responsible towards your exotic pets'...and yes...whenever there's an event being held...those members who have pets will usually bring along their pets to the events for 'some purposes'...but that's what we are practising in SPCA Northern Malaysia...I don't know what my counterparts in Shah Alam doing for their events...
how is SPCA gonna educate the public on being responsible pet owners if they know nuts about exotic pets? having the best interest of heart is not gonna help if they are stuck on knowledge only on mainstream pets.
my advice to spca if they seriously want to initiate a reptile sanctuary; get more knowledge, recruit more reptile keepers, whatever you can on the know-how side. having land, funds etc won't mean anything if basic husbandry stuff remains ignored. it would only end up like sam poh tong or kek lok si.
duhknight, i'm glad that someone from SPCA is here. at least we could convey messages directly.
