my computer was up for 6 days and the next day i woke up everything was very laggy... i do 24/7 downloading. Everything was very unresponsive so i decided to restart the computer..when i came back, my computer couldnt detect my internet. I am connecting to a belkin router that is connected to a riger modem. When i connect directly to the modem, it works just fine. The computer just doesnt wanna detect any router. I tried it on my bros dlink router too..and it wouldn work... i use my dads laptop to connect wired and wireless it was wrong with the router or modem. I tried booting in safe mode with networking, it also does not wanna connect. All it does is show there connected to unidentified network. No packets is sent out or received. All i can see is that its connected but thats it... only connected. I tried:

reinstalling the network card driver-doesnt work
using a wireless wifi adapter to connect-doesnt wanna connect
install the proprietary belkin software-doesnt work
direct connect modem to computer-works
restore to a previous restore point-doesnt work


I need it to connect to my router because i have 3 computers at home...and all can connect fine except for my desktop. All your help is much appreciated... please do not call me to reformat..i know how t o do that thanks very much.

please help me i haven been online for 5 days already...i still cant find the cause
