So now i want to see doctor but i dont know where to go. By the way im in KL. Plan to goto UMMC to see doctor but is it expensive over there?

or any gov hospital tat can recommend?

most local clinics have the necessary equipment to sort it out. there is no need to see a specialist if its just wax.

I'm having the same problem now too.

I don't think all clinics have the equipment, but can try. What they'll usually give you is the olive oil to soften the wax first, but you'll still need to suck it out.

Last time i went to Tung Shin hospital...not that expensive(maybe RM100++) compared to Megah Medical Specialist which cost me nearly RM400!!!! They bill the wax sucking thing as "operation", hence the price!!! Luckily can claim...but not going back there ever!!!

your local clinic should be able to handle this. they look into your telinga with that maginfying glass with the light on it. i think so at least.

If ur living in Klang, the town area should have someone offering ear cleaning services. but not sure how much.

But best to say, that these people are pro's and noe their stuff well. I'm not sure anywhere around KL has it though.

The last time I had my ear cleaned was at Young & Newton clinic in PJ State area. They will pump in warm water into your ear until the wax is loosened and comes out.

But that was long time ago, dunno if they still offer that service.

Use the traditional earwax picker once a while to pick out the wax. Don't always use cotton bud. Cotton bud don't get the big wax out from your ear.

Always clean your ear frequently to avoid build up of ear wax. I clean my ear with cotton bud twice a week and occasionally use an earwax picker. I'm 43 years so far never have any problem with ear wax.

Doctors still pretty much do the same thing now, but I think they put some drops in before they flush out your ear if the wax is really hard.

i removed my nephew's one myself.
I was doing the 'picking' with the 'ear-pick- stick'. And then i thought i should check on his as well.
I thought his ear hole was rather shallow, when i thought 'the ear wax' was so visible. Until i use the pick stick, and found that it can move a bit.
It was actually an ear wax build-up like a wall closing across the ear hole. Because his mom only uses cotton buds to clean his ear.
When those were picked out, they almost looks like those black sponge's earphones, just a wee bit smaller in size.

Having time to spare use warm water and repeat until problem solved. Ear wax is water soluble. Since it's dried try using warm water. Or else buy ear wax remover at pharmacy. DO NOt USE ELECTERICAL DRILLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

otherwise u can try cerumol ear drops in pharmacy - it dissolved ur earwax n it will drain out in 2-3 days if it is not seriously impacted, if it doesnt go away, u need to consult doc

hmm old topic but useful for malaysian whom googled for info like me. sorry for my bad grammar.

i always have this ear wax problem every once in 3 - 4 years. my 1s ear block problem when i was in teens so i went to this islamic clinic at pj. 1st bad xperience! the doctor put this small tool deep inside i felt like my brain being stabbed. super pain! and worst of all, it didnt do anything. the doctor gave me that peanut oil and use it at home and still, nothing happened! my ear still blocked and i suspect the peanut oil only became hard and block my ear even worse! waste of RM and time!

so my parents brought me to universiti hospital and the nurse told to make appointment. after 1 weeks and 3 hours waiting, finally this doctor used the big machine to pump, spray and sucked out all my hardened wax, its like hundreds of tiny stones coming out! but i feel really good. bubble sound coming from my ears its like being sanatized!
toilet flush sounded super loud like niagara fall. proton saga sounded like porsche. super stereo!

oh yeah. after some 1 1/2 years the this wax problem came again. another 1 week 3 hours again! and again after 2 years after that i decided to go to this RM1 kelana jaya hospital where i used to when i got fever. still 2 -3 hours waiting. the doctor uses a simple small pump spray machine with pipe water and spray inside my ear. it really works. but the doctor advice me next time to buy that peanut oil / ear wax oil 1st before come next time if happened cause sometimes the spraying would not work.

of course this problem came again after few years and i went to the same clinic. but the last 2 times i went to setapak clinic which also costs RM1. if you go at the setapak clinic makesure you come in the morning like 9 am because the morning nurse i met did cure my problem. i went in the evening 4 pm the nurse seems like trainee she didnt solve my wax problem.

Best method to remove stubborn ear wax is to visit an ENT who will pour some solution into your ear canal and then suck them out using a suction machine like vacuum cleaner , it is very safe if carried out by ENT. Costs about RM200 . Not cheap but can last 1 or 2 years at least .
