should go for psp 2000 or psp 3000??

Actually i plan to buy psp 3000 but too bad it is not hackable so i end up with psp 2006 last week

The picture of PSP2000 will be like that in first post only when it is very bright around you (like playing below the sun in daylight).

Cannot hack PSP3000 = cannot unbrick it i think.

the darkside is always more powerful. no such thg as unhackable.
the main prob is the interlacing issues. IMO, if u prefer more vibrant but interlaced screen, go for psp3000. if u dun mind the ghosting and dull screen, go for psp2000. but wud u seriously get an older version when a newer one is already available?

i think u better own the psp300 then talk...or u can go psp official forum tat i linked and read thier reviews about psp3000...
the interlaced problems make pplz harder to play the psp game(new or old) and surely cannot be fixed by new firmware...

I'm surprise by the inferior LCD screen that Sony put into the new PSP3000. As a hardware company for so many decades and I cant believe that Sony would do this kind of mistake. It sounds like those hardware guys just tested the new screen on movies and pictures viewing only but not on games. It seems that the gaming division and hard division are not communicate at all.

This is not the first time Sony has done this mistake, they done it on PS3 as well. They basically develop the hardware without the software guy, and thus, we have one difficult machine to develop for.

well, according to those psp forums, not all owners complained. it boils down to one's sensitivity and preferences. and hav u really seen it urself b4? i dont think any shops wud let us do a test-drive in KL, is der?

hey can any of u taikos shed some light on whether i shd get the psp2000 or psp3000? i'm getting it b4 nov 15 for sum reasons so i hafta make precise judgements on the possibility of the psp3000 being hacked and also ghosting vs scanlines
oh and also, can u guys help me clarify whether this is true : the psp3000 will behave exactly like the psp2000 when it is not in the Wide Color Space setting (which is the normal mode)

thx for the reply. the thing is, i assume dat none of us here in msia have 1sthand hands-on demo wit the system. thus i havent a clue abt the severity of the scanlines/interlacing issues. So,

technically, it was hacked. just that there's no cheap medium to burn the back up on to.

you can download legally from PSN store. if i'm not mistaken each PSX game about RM30.

Grow up guys and start paying for your games.
If you can afford a handheld unit, then you should be able to afford to pay for the games.

This cheapo mentality is whats preventing Sony, Microsoft etc from officially launching their machines here.
Sony launch their PS3 is to get more adoption of Blue Ray, but for PSP, heck no.

Our piracy rate is at 60%...meaning 6 in every 10 Malaysian are using pirated software, which includes games.

dats exactly the reason psp units are selling like hotcakes in countries like us.

Well, piracy is bad... but not everybody can afford to buy ORI game.
