i'm not gonna elaborate much because it is a pain to type on the iphone =P
you will need to source out a particular type of paint (i cannot remember which). because someone actually wrote an article on how he experimented many times of sprays/paints to obtain the best results by comparing the adhesiveness between the paint and the iphone surface and then enduring the iphone to multiple stress levels. so basically if you think that it is a simple as buying a rm15 spray can from your local ah seng hardware shop, then think again. you might end up scratching the paint (may it by accident or perhaps by using a pouch, according to some unidentified sources...). hence instead of looking cool, you might obtain a vice versa effect. Nokia 2003 has a point there.
The usual paints for normal aluminium products are either power-coated or anodized... much much more durable then the ah seng hardware shop aerosol type of paint This post has been edited by alexio82: Oct 19 2008, 01:32 PM |

No you dont need to paint to have it look this way.
there are taiwan iphone housing which comes in anodized black. so basically an iphone housing replacement will make your phone this way. |

The casing from taiwan does not include the small fittings and stuff. U need to take it off from the old casing and transplant it onto the new one. That process is a B*tch to do and involves adhesive remover. In the end you'll end up messing the phone then making it look pretty ... that if u don't know what u r doing.
