Why don't you bring it to the vet? Let the vet check it out. If it is fungal then you can treat it with Malaseb shampoo which is specially formulated for fungal. For kittens bathe it once in every 3 days with Malaseb. Bathe with warm water and then leave the shampoo on it for 10 minutes. Make sure it does not lick the shampoo. After that rinse and then blow dry so that your kitten does not catch a cold. You can see the difference within a week. For adult, bathe once a week will do. My cats used to have fungal and Malaseb works very well. It costs around RM40 ++ per bottle. Expensive but worth it.

where did you get Malaseb shampoo? if you are in KL which vet?

i also heard this brand name before.
*
Some petshops do carry Malaseb.
The vet that I went to is Klinik Yuan at Pandan Indah.
The doctor charged me RM90.00 for 1 jab, 1 bottle of Malaseb and 1 bottle of fur supplement.
After bathing my 2 months old kitten with Malaseb, the fungus got better.
You can actually see the difference in one week. thumbup.gif

wait wait... the vet give 1 jab to your kitten?

because ringworm has vaccine too.. 80% works, but sometimes 20% fail to work. I bet that jab recover your kitten in faster way.

all of us here start with tablets.
*
Yup, the vet gave a jab to my kitten. smile.gif But then again, before this, I had a little kitten with chronic fungal infection. It looked liked a sphnyx tongue.gif It was too small to be given oral and jabs according to the vet so what I was advised is to bathe the kitten with Malaseb once in every 3 days. It worked but the fur took quite sometime to grow back though.

Also if you have one or more cats in the house but is not infected with fungal, please bathe them with Malaseb too. This is as a prevention. Then mop the floor where the cats frequent with clorox to kill the spora (germs). Please bear in mind that the spora can be air borne so it is very easily to infect other cats in the household too. Half a bucket of water and two cap fuls of clorox.

This tip was also given by the vet thumbup.gif

Hi buddy, may i know how much cost for neuter/spayed cat? One of my female cat is to old laa.. I'm afraid something bad happen to her if she get pregnant due to her age 4years+.. sweat.gif

p/s: I call her 'Rosnah Mat Aris' bcoz her high taste (wanna matting with young male) ..hehe...  blush.gif
*
Hi Shah,

Well, you can actually bring your cat to Klinik Kembiri at Setapak. The charges for neutering is RM60.00 for females and RM40.00 for males. However, please bear in mind that Klinik Kembiri only charge this for normal Domestic Shorthair Cats. If I am not mistaken pedigree cats e.g. Domestic Longhair are not accepted there.

If your cat is a Domestic Long Hair then you can send your cat to one of my friends pet shop called 'Pak Cu Usual Pet shop' which is located at Bangi. Pak Cu is running a pet shop however he has vets stationed at his pet shop to do vacine and nuetering. His price is very reasonable compared to other vets thumbup.gif

If I am not mistaken other private vets would charge around RM180.00 for female cats. Very expensive sweat.gif

Mama just gave birth last night. 3 kittens to be exact.
Unfortunately, all her 3 kittens died as soon as Mama gave birth to all 3 of them.

She kept on crying on and on and on. It's as if she's crying for her kittens death.
Although with her non stop crying, she never stops licking her kittens. 3 hour after she gave birth, she came to me and look at me with sad eyes as if she's mourning the death of her kittens, I picked her up, put her on my lap and she slept soundly through the night.

In the morning, she woke up and go to her dead kittens, licked and slept beside them and hasn't woke up since then.
How I wished at least 1 of her kitten were alive. sad.gif

I won't let this happen again, never!
A month after today, I'll bring her to the vet and have her spayed.

It's my fault for not spaying her from the start, it's all my fault. vmad.gif
*
Oh my God! What a sad story cry.gif
I am so sorry to hear the loss of your little kittens.
Maybe this is your cats first litter. Usually, when cats have their first litter sometimes the little kittens won't survive.
It happened to me too. sad.gif
Really so sad to hear about the mum.
Yes, I think she is mourning for her little ones.
My cat was also like that. After disposing her little kitten she looked high and low for it.
It was so sad to see her do that.
I gave her lots of love and TLC knowing that she was sad.

QUOTE(elfreakz @ Apr 25 2009, 01:42 PM)
Pity your cats. so kesian.. they are stress..

Yes most cat will show rebel when they are too horny. they start doing things that will make you mad. the worst part i ever heard is, they poop inside the food bowl to show madness.

Another thing is, cat that pee and poo different places, normally associate with sickness. it can be anything inside the body.

most common for female is "Pyometra & Endometrial Hyperplasia"... vaginal infection. One of our forum member here last time, her cat got infected with this, right after spaying. it's like too late. her cat died, and that cat is so cute and adorable.

--

sorry dear, in this forum, mating services is not allowed. why don't your neuter all your female cat? making them pregnant won't solve the problem.

let say they are pregnant, first thing you need to make sure -

CAN YOUR CAT GET PREGNANT AND LABOR? not all cat successfully with pregnant and labor. they can get miscarriage which will end up dying. or they can end up having hard time to labor and lastly died together with the kittens.

IF YOU HAVE 3 CATS, EACH CATS GIVE BIRTH TO 4 KITTEN.. THATS MEAN 12 KITTEN. are you sure you can too have this many kitten. having kitten is not an easy job. start from food to litter, everything need to add more money. plan first before you get your cat pregnant. stop breeding unwanted kittens.

If you plan to mate and get them pregnant just because you don't want them to pee different places, forget about it. it won't help. 2 months after pregnant i'm pretty sure they will get horny and on heat again. and start doing that thing again. a female cat can get horny / on heat right after 24 hours after delivery/labor her kitten.

So think and think again.

Do you love your female cats? = get them neuter

or

I'm Having cat just to satisfy myself, produce cute kitten that make me happy, get them pregnant to solve all problem, i don't care much about them, as long as i'm happy not them..? = I think you better give your cat to potential new owner, i'm pretty sure you don't deserve to have a cats if you have this kind of mind.

Good luck  wink.gif
*
Yes, I definitely agree with Elfreakz on this matter. Its definitely cute when you have kittens but when they grow and populate again then there will be trouble. You face with so many cats and then you would not know what to do with it. You might think its easy getting a cat pregnant and fun having kittens but I tell you its not. Once the female cats gives birth, they will lose their fur and get thin from feeding their babies. So pityful when you look at them. You will need to spend more in giving the lacating mothers the vitamins that they need when they are breast feeding. You will also need to ensure that the kittens are getting enough nutrients too. You may think its fun to breed and get cute kittens but think again when you have a household full of kittens and that is when the problems start.

Also some cats may get complications during birth and if you are not experienced the cat will die. Think carefully before you want to breed your cat. No offence ya...

hello~

is back to basics and blackwoods cat food any good?
*
Hi Annetize,

Hi, I am currently a user for Blackwood as well as a distributor. I help friends to buy blackwood at a cheaper price. thumbup.gif

Before this, I have been using RC and Iams. However because of price increase I was recommended to use Blackwood by a friend. Blackwood is a premium cat food from US. Since using Blackwood for almost a year now, my cats have put on weight, shed less fur and their poo poo is very well formed and has less odour.

For your information, a breeder pack of 24kg cost RM220.00 however if you pool with a group of friends and share it you can buy 1 kg for as low as RM9.20! brows.gif That's really cheap compared to the market. Blackwood has also packaging in 7.5kg that will cost you RM90.00.

If you are interested, do PM me and I will give you a few packets of samples to try. thumbup.gif

Zulkis,

That's a bit technical..Anyway thanx. I didn't adopt the cat. My female cat Molly (i consider her hair to be in between medium to along hair type) just gave birth to 3 kittens.
All 3 different color (tortoise, orange and grey), just want to know if we can tell just by looking at the kitten at this age whether it is going to be a long type hair kind of cat or not. This is her second litter. The first litter of kitten was stolen and i was so damn pissed off about that. Anyway i know one of the BF of Molly is a DLH that has been hanging around my house ever since Molly became "matang".

Can one cat be impregnated by 3 different cat at the same time?

sweat.gif
*
Hi... just to share a tip with you that I learned from my friend on how to tell if your cat is a long haired or not. First of all look at the tail. If it resembles like a triangle (fat at the bottom near the bum and sharp at the end yes... your cat will be a long hair. Also look at in between the bottom of the paws. If there is a lot of fur than yes, it will be a long hair. Also the ears, fur will be sticking out.

Usually, if the one of parents is a long hair, there is a possibility that the offsprings will take after the long hair. Not all though but some.

Good Luck! thumbup.gif

Congratulations! I used to become bidan terjun to my cats too. Good experience though thumbup.gif I don't think giving milk to the mum would be a good idea. It might cause diarhea. Just give her kitten food which is high in nutrients and protein. It will give her all the supplements that the mother cat needs.

If you want to neuter him then I would suggest the cheapest and safest place would be Klinik Kembiri at Setapak.
They only charge RM40.00 for male and RM60.00 for females.
