ok...i've oledi buy the whiskas in packet....thanks elf...really appreciate it
will find chicken after this, want to see her healthy again...another things, the vet give anti biotic in tablet, not syrup, and is there any good brand for this anti biotic syrup?

(^___^)
*
tablet also can smile.gif

if u have problem feeding her pill... u can smash it, and take abit of wet food, mix it.. and feed her..

or you can drop abit water on the pill.. hancur kan.. then get syringe, suck it in the syringe, and press it into her mouth.

if u know how to feed pill directly better lah... hopefully you know how.

errkk anti biotic brand? only vet has it... u cannot purchase it other place.

you must finish that anti biotic drugs ehehh dont skip.

dia biar dia rest dulu. jangan paksa. tapi pasti kan dia minum air tau. sukat berapa banyak air you bagi dia tonight, and see tomorrow ada kurang ke tak.

as for the wet food.. kalau sampai esok awal pagi tak habis, buang kan saja. wet food mudah spoil. tak elok lama sangat expose to the air. jangan takut bazir, as for now, the aim is to make sure she is back healthy.

hmm....just now she vomited something like saliva....i really worried, is it because the effect of the injection and medicine? if she don't want to drink, what i'm supposed to do? can i use the syringe to give her drink? huhu
*
vomitting saliva with yellowish or greenish or sometime no color, is a sign of too much worm.

worm you can actually see easily from the stool if it hard stool.

cirit birit is early stage of alot worms. but when it show vomitting, that means more worms.

yes it can be the reaction of the deworming.

yeap if she refuse to drink, u need to spoon feed everything, include food too.

which vet did u went? did u ask for the body temperature?

p/s put her in room temperature, warm room...

she vomit saliva with no color...i went to small government vet near my house today....and i don't ask for the body temperature coz i told him my cat 'berak cair' and just eating a little of her food, and he said it is sign of worm...so elf, your suggestion, is it OK if i just let her tonite rest, and check her back tomorrow morning? huhu....
*
yea just your cat rest for awhile.

just remember water (empty fresh water / the chicken soup) , food (chicken or wet food) and finish the anti biotic. dry food skip it first until u see improvement in the stool then continue dry food.

u can determine your cat lack of water or not by pulling the skin, if the skin return to normal condition slowly, means lack of water. Another things, if ur cat is sick, the vet should not give vaccination...can make thing worse (according to the Jean Veterinary said to me)
(^___^)
*
correct... other word dehydration. the skin must go back to the base faster not slowly smile.gif
correct... only vaccine healthy kitten/cat smile.gif

lastly, never afraid to ask questions to the doctor, although it may sound stupid. because we are actually paying for the consultation smile.gif ready 101 questions before you smash the vet eheheh

zzz

i told myself not to raise the 5 kitten but my mom today is taking care of them and even send 1 of them to vet because it is very weak in term of walking and his face is very pale..

what should i do? every time I near them I feel very itchy =S is it the flea has jump on my skin.. should I bath them with flea shampoo? any tips? =|

but they very cute zzz.. but my heart dont want to raise them... but very cute.. LOL baby cat =.=
*
fleas will jump if they don't like their place, and crawl if they love the place. which means, they will jump anywhere in your house and even on you. if you really want to see them, put your kitten on a A4 white paper.. then comb your kitten. u will see something jumping on the paper tongue.gif

how to remove/kill the fleas?
how old is the kitten? if 8 weeks old or 2 months you can use FRONTLINE spay. spray it on your kitten, be careful not the eyes. frontline is good to kill the fleas instantly.

how to prevent fleas?
for now, make sure the location for your kitten with fleas is far away from your house stuff, such as sofa, CARPET, etc... fleas can live in carpet. so u dont want them to make your house as they breeding place. remove all towels anywhere near or in the box your kitten sleep. just use NEWSPAPER.

give 4-7 days after you spray the frontline and remove towels and carpet. now check back the kitten, look through the whole body if there are fleas.

what to do if my kitten is not even 2 months old?
If the kittens are with their mom, spray only the mom. fleas normally love mother body than kitten. since its big and warm. kill the colony on mother. when you ready to spray the mom, remove the kitten first. remove them about 2 hours from their mother. so which mean, mother will be quarantine with frontline spray on body for 2 hours. after that you can put her with her babies.

if no mother, only the kitten, but they are too small for frontline, apply the above method. the one remove all towels and put them away from carpets or your bed or your sofa. just put them in box with newspaper. you cannot put fleas poison on the kitten body at this small age. do it manually eheheh find one by one like what monkey do biggrin.gif

good luck!

A fren of mine had some problems with her new adopted kittens... 2 of them at 2months of age... at first, they both have no problems pooping in the sand litter, but yesterday, after my fren got home from work, she discovered that those kittens had poop outside the sand litter... how can we teach those kittens to poop again in the sand litter?

and is it normal for them to poop so often? On the 1st day itself, they have been pooping a lot... My fren is giving the kittens a mixture of rice and soft kitten food... and they dont like to drink up the milk that my fren had mix for them... please advice... thanx smile.gif
*
first of all, bring to the vet for Deworming.

Second, channge what you feed. No rice please. soft kitten food? eerrkk you mean wet food such as whiskas? if yes, skip this, and go for dry kitten food.

third, pooping... see the poop is it hard or soft? of soft/watery you need immediate vet and change the food.

fourth, pooping outside litter box... with all the above point, im sure your kitten is sick.... sick kitten/cat usually do mess in the house to show that they are sick. since they cannot talk, so they create problem.

fifth, milk is good, but if they can eat already, skip the milk and give dry kitten food only. dry kitten food contain enough nutrition for the kitten to fully grow. can buy this at the pet shop such as Iams Kitten, Science Plan Kitten, Royal Canin Kitten, etc. milk can cause diarrhea and stomach pain.

the best thing to do is deworm at the vet, and change the food and diet. proper diet please.

owh...  blush.gif in dat case, i'll ask my fren to give them wet food first w/out the mix of rice... but will it be ok if she mix them together with dry food instead? since the kittens didnt know how to eat the dry food...

thanx for the advice....  blush.gif

first you need to understand the contain of nutrition in a food and also what a kitten need to grow well.

rice is carbohydrates ... cats do not need this. yes they can eat such things, but they do not need it. if you feeding 100% carbo, you cat end up fat and not healthy. they need alot of protein and fat source of food.

wet food... its delicious. also contain some nutrition but not most of it. you can feed this wet food, but always teach your cat to eat dry food aswell. wet food as a treat is fine.

dry food.. dry food is design since 50 years + ago. it's convenient to feed dry food.

fresh food such as chicken meat and cow meat is good too.. google it if you want to make your own fresh recipes for your cats.

Yea i heard about this before. and long long time ago, my own sister bitten by a feral cat who hate human so much.

a dog can do the same thing to. a dog can change into a wolf. a cat can change into a tiger. after all that is their relatives.

i do hope that cat is neuter/spay before he/she started to breed a cat monster. you don't want it to bite a baby thought. hopefully you can atleast kembiri that cat before release it to the outdoor area.

since it is not suitable for being a home pets. im sure you dont even want the new owner to suffer from bites and blood.

i want to ask something, is it true if cat mate to each other from its own kind (siblings = inbreed) the kitten born is have high possibility can't live for a long period and have many problems? because actually my previous two kitten, their parent are siblings...after 3 times giving a birth, none survive, even survive only for couple of month, the one left with me, still struggle...really weak, vet can't do anything....
*
yes true inbreeding between father/daughter, mother/son, or siblings/siblings will appears as problem.

why are you breeding your cat until up to 3 times fails anyway?

i bet in malay community, most of us will feel disgusting with inbreed right.

actually i'm not the one who do the inbreed, but person who gave me the kitten, she doesn't know about the inbreed and i just know from the vet...and after that she remember someone ever told her that avoid the inbreed..now she know, she will not allow anymore her cats mating each other...if u have good knowledge in genetic maybe u can conduct the inbreed from what i read through the internet, but yet, better to avoid it la.......btw, my kitten died today at the clinic....

Hi, I'm new to this thread. I've got a question. Hope you guys can help...

My kitten is around 1 year. well the little cat is pretty much normal except it has a bad habit of peeing in his own food bowl.

anyone here has any idea how to change the habit? Thanks...
*
-

do you use litter box? with clay or maybe other type of litter?

If yes, exchange the location of the food bowl with the litter box. put the food bowl to other place. so that's mean, the place that the kitten poop at is now litter box, not the food bowl. Also, if it is not working, try change the litter type, if you use clay, try other type or brand.

If no, then get a litter box with litter.

-

do you see kitten having problem with peeing?

if yes, then go to vet. check that. normally male cat will always have the potential to suffer from bladder stone.

-

peeing everywhere in the house is something like telling you "i have problem, please help me". try exchange the food bowl place with a litter box first. then try change the litter type. if non of this work, go to the vet. peeing and pooping at all place means sickness.

-

further reading go to:

-> cat urinate outside litter box
-> cat and litter box problem

hye....just new in this...my cat has lice infected from my fren's one..im so sad that Damien(my cat) always scratch his body..its happened when i pass to my fren when im going back to kg when raya..

can u suggest me wats the best to get to cure him?(damien)..really frust now dunno wat to do..thx if ur reply ere...sad.gif
*
For lice, fleas, ticks on cat, use FRONTLINE SPRAY

For lice, fleas, ticks on human can he/she get from cat is not a hard think to control. Human bath atleast 2 times a day. if you friend complete this, he/she should have hard time removing this parasites. shampoo the hair as usual. Unless your friend house is attack by all this parasites then you need to clean the house. parasite such as fleas they can use your carpet to hide. like lice and mites, they can hide on the bed and mattress.

-

Unless if it is ringworm, then you need to bring your cat to the vet. vet will inspect the skin condition. if it is 100% ringworm, anti fungal will be given.

If you friend infected by ringworm, ask him/her to go to the clinic. doctor will give him/her medicine.

Hey I'm wondering if it's dangerous for cats to eat cooked bones.
I see neighbours often leaving leftovers(with bones) for stray cats to eat.
Won't the bones splinter and cause injury to the cats' internal organs?
I always take out any bones before giving leftovers to my cat  wub.gif
*
Bones should be avoided at all cost and they can harm your cat. The more you fill your cat up with your food the less likely she is to eat her own.

And since our nutritional needs are not the same as our cats', your cat will get less of the vitamins, amino acids, and minerals she needs and probably more of those she does not need.

Cats are obligate carnivores which means they must eat meat and generally do not digest vegetable matter very well. Table scraps are a leading cause of digestive disorders. The rich foods we eat can wreak havoc on your cat's digestive tract.

A simple, consistent diet keeps their system functioning as it should. Throw in your very different foods and spices and do not be surprised if your cat has bad gas, bad breath, loose stools, etc.

You could end up with a finicky eater. If your cat develops a taste for your food, she may stop eating her own. After all, which would you prefer, dry cat food or juicy steak and hamburger every night?

End of the story no human leftovers food for your beloved house cats. Cook bones is 0% nutrition. Big bones will choke your cats.

Wanna ask u guys something, can I cut my cat's fur? Coz terkena chewing gum  icon_question.gif
*
Yes you can cut the fur that kena chewing gum. just becareful with the scissor. get someone to help. else bring to petshop/vet that offer grooming service to do it for you.

some grooming shop has equipment to remove it without cutting your cat fur.

this never happened to me, but i heard people use butter or olive/cook oil to remove it. like you put some on your finger, then scrub it on the chewing gum. remember to bath your cat after that.

else if you still afraid, get professional groomer to remove it for you or cut it for you.

i sent all my 6 cats for neutering/spaying there cuz the cost is cheap...cant believe they do that to the strays... vmad.gif

the 1st time i went there, the lady vet told me they put the animals to sleep..can't believe she lied!!
*
i watched that bad news of DBKL cruelty towards animal like dogs and cats.

but i believe there is a good sign of that show on tv... meaning, malaysian society will be more aware to that. with that, i do hope malaysian open their eyes to save animal rather than depending on DBKL to do everything smile.gif and i do hope many malaysian watch that on tv.
