thanks elf for ur concerned..how much the sebolyse cost?is it help to restore faster kiki's fur?
*
i can't remember the price, i think around rm30+

not sure miri got this shampoo or not. i got it from the vet. can't find it at the petshop, because this is vet medicated shampoo. not like the medicated shampoo for fleas in pet shop.

first thing, you need to remove the ringworm. if ringworm is still there, kiki's fur will have hard time to grow.

eh wait, your case is ringworm or other fungal? it only around the eyes right, this shampoo is like for critical ringworm attack which botak botak around the body and tail oww.. your case is not that serious right, since you mention only around eyes?

susah nak pin point what fungal or fungus or parasites ...

you need to confirm this with your vet. even macam fungal.. fungal is a big name. it has different type of fungal.

just like Worms. many types of worms.

Like parasites, we have fleas, tick, lice, walking dandruff, etc etc.

i'm not sure how it look like on your cat. you only can see botak patches? or you see kulit kering? kurap? etc.

did you ask the vet what kind of fungal infection?

as far as i concern, if the case involve skin, it should be ringworm.

the fur drop not because of the food...

by nature, ringworm fungal will drop down the fur.. and you started to see spot patches on the body, under the stomach, tail, private part.

Dermatophytosis (ringworm) is caused by fungal spores in the environment and typically develops on the skin as lesions. It is highly contagious and affects both dogs and cats. Common symptoms include red, raised, crusty skin and circular patches of dry skin with hair loss.

Proper care will make the cat recover faster. Like, keep giving the medicine (don't skip). and frequent bath with anti fungal shampoo (if im not mistaken 2/3 times a week). Some use cone collar to avoid cat licking the body (since ringworm will make the body itchy, cat will keep licking it until the fur drop and dry). And don't skip the vet appointment. If the vet ask you to come back after 2 weeks, then visit them. using tablet and shampoo is the first method. there are some other ways, but you need to complete it step by step, see witch one is suitable for the ringworm condition now. discuss more with your vet, sure they will help.

anyway, just google around cat ringworm. you will get alot of answers.

take care!

Yes. But they can't tell. Sound like no so professional, right? The vet just take some skin sample from my cat and check, then don tell me anything.( I also forgot to ask what kind of fungal infection sad.gif )
The vet told only need bath once in a week. But i bath him twice in a week..
Ya, already google cat ringworm.. too much info there... pening kepala la... anywhere just hopefully the medicine works...

there is not anti worm shampoo.. ehehe

worms u need to deworm smile.gif

ringworm is not worm.. it is fungal. so don't confuse by the name.

around the ears bulu jarang-jarang can be normal. because cat scrub the ears. you need to check inside the ears. make sure it is PINK.. no black black brown brown wax. if there is that brownish thinggy.. then the cause of bulu jarang jarang is EAR MITES.

last time my case, the vet let me look the skin under the microscope, and i can see moving things.

also checking for ringworm, vet will ultra blue (this thing look similar to check fake money)... vet will pun the blue bright light on the skin. if there is florescent blue, means ringworm is there.

that's how i get to know about ringworm although i'm not a vet LOL.

Why don't you bring it to the vet? Let the vet check it out. If it is fungal then you can treat it with Malaseb shampoo which is specially formulated for fungal. For kittens bathe it once in every 3 days with Malaseb. Bathe with warm water and then leave the shampoo on it for 10 minutes. Make sure it does not lick the shampoo. After that rinse and then blow dry so that your kitten does not catch a cold. You can see the difference within a week. For adult, bathe once a week will do. My cats used to have fungal and Malaseb works very well. It costs around RM40 ++ per bottle. Expensive but worth it.

Some petshops do carry Malaseb.
The vet that I went to is Klinik Yuan at Pandan Indah.
The doctor charged me RM90.00 for 1 jab, 1 bottle of Malaseb and 1 bottle of fur supplement.
After bathing my 2 months old kitten with Malaseb, the fungus got better.
You can actually see the difference in one week. thumbup.gif

yea most a little bit infection will cure faster.

depends on cat body immunity. because some cat will not show any ringworm symptom. a cat with very low immune will show it badly.

Just for info, malaseb or dermcare, both has the same ingredients. it is the matter how you follow the instructions.

Both:
Miconazole Nitrate 2%
Chlorhexidine Gluconate 2%

http://www.malaseb.net/
http://www.dermcare.com.au/sebolyse.htm

I tried dermcare before. So now, if my cat have skin problem, fungus, fungal, i will try Malaseb.

Yup, the vet gave a jab to my kitten. smile.gif But then again, before this, I had a little kitten with chronic fungal infection. It looked liked a sphnyx tongue.gif It was too small to be given oral and jabs according to the vet so what I was advised is to bathe the kitten with Malaseb once in every 3 days. It worked but the fur took quite sometime to grow back though.

Also if you have one or more cats in the house but is not infected with fungal, please bathe them with Malaseb too. This is as a prevention. Then mop the floor where the cats frequent with clorox to kill the spora (germs). Please bear in mind that the spora can be air borne so it is very easily to infect other cats in the household too. Half a bucket of water and two cap fuls of clorox.

This tip was also given by the vet thumbup.gif
