Hi guys... I just found out this great thread.. and do let me revive and bump up this thread!

I just ordered a Sager NP5793 from Singapore and now anxiously waiting for my lappie to be delivered.. rclxms.gif

The specs are as below:-

Display:17" WUXGA LCD with Matte Finish Surface (1920x1200)

Processor:45nm Intel® Core™ 2 Duo Processor T9300 / 6MB L2 Cache 2.50GHz 800MHz FSB

Video & Graphics Card:Nvidia GeForce 9800M GTS Graphics with 1GB DDR3 Video Memory

Operating System:Genuine MS Windows® VISTA Home Premium 32/64-Bit Edition

Memory:4GB Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM at 667MHz - 2 X 2048MB

Primary Hard Disk Drive:320GB 7200rpm SATA 300 Hard Drive

Optical Drive:2X Blu-ray Reader/8X DVD R/2.4X DL Super-Multi Drive

Wireless Network Card:Intel Wi-Fi Link 5300AGN - 802.11A/B/G/N Wireless LAN Module (add 68)

Intel Robson Technology:Intel 2GB TurboMemory Module

Primary Battery:Smart Li-ION Battery Pack (8 Cells)

Integrated Security Device:Fingerprint Reader

PLUS: Free gift of a Free Edifier M1335 Multimedia System worth SGD59

And the price I pay is SGD3,000 (overpriced or value buy?) No additional charges and inclusive of GST and free delivery.

Plus: Since I order from Singapore, the warranty is being covered both in Singapore and Sager USA. So, if anything spoilt, I can just sent it back to Singapore office by hand and no need to sent back to USA which can save me substantial shipping cost.

Bad thing is still have to wait for another 5-7 working days for my lappy to get into my hands... and I cant obtain another 3% discount bcos I din pay in cheque or cash.

ahhhhh!!!!!!! I want the Sager laptop so badly.... I cannot pay them with a check or what because I do not have that amount of money. I can only pay them monthly. XoticPc doesn't accept international credit cards!!  cry.gif

Do I still got any other way to buy Sager Laptop???  icon_question.gif

If you want to pay by international credit cards, you can order from SG Cube and pay by installments. You can oso pay by cheque or cash and in return you will be awarded a 3% discount on total cost.

The good thing is whenever your laptop is faulty, you can always bring back to them and they will take care of your warantly and the shipping costs unlike for those who order directly from XoticPC as they will have to bear their own shipping cost (izit USD223 one way?). You may request them to fix it by SG Cube technical team (if you want ur laptop to be fix it fast) or request them to sent it back to Sager USA (if you don't mind to wait for 3 weeks).

I oso sent an email to Sager USA to verify their authentication as a authorised Sager reseller in Spore.

Attached is the screenie for the email conversation.

I actually ordered the NP5793 (since tis model is in promotion and the specs are not bad too...).

The price quoted on their website is actually included everything, (GST, shipping fees, custom duties... i mean everything) from bringing ur laptop from Sager to ur doorstep. Since I order before 15 March 2009, I am entitled to get a free gift somemore, ie a edifier multimedia system (better than nothing la, i think).

I know is a bit expensive by few hundred bucks, but since I am in Spore and I want peace of mind, if anything happens, I can just run to their office doorstep the next morning and receive back my repaired laptop the next day or so.

Ya, and you mentioned about exchange rate... currently the RM to SGD is actually more favourable than RM to USD (correct me if I am wrong).

The first impression was fanstastic. It comes with a bag, just a normal look bag (not leather made)

The brief review:-
1st boot-up: The 1st boot-up took 50 secs, then 2nd subsequent boot-up 41 secs...
Screen: very bright and outstanding (u will notice it is like a glossy screen despite it is a matte screen)
Build Quilty: Top-notch and secured
Noise level: You cant really hear the noice, it is so low when internet browsing... but haven try gaming (let me try it after I have fully loaded my games 2-3 days later)
Fan: So far so cool in this 3 hrs..
Keyboard: Big-buttons, I think created specifically for gaming
Dead pixel: 1 dead pixel found at near the left bottom corner of the screen, but for me... i dun really care as it is barely noticeable.

Now damn lazy liao to continue my review. Maybe interested guys here can ask me questions then I answer them instead of I write the whole long essay review.

opps.. sorry, forgot about that.

seems like you're the first to get Sager from a local supplier smile.gif  how was the experience ?

Okay, let me share..

So the sales guys send my lappy to me around 9.30pm... then I took out the system from the un-opened box, we double-check the specs, tools, manuals, CDs, drivers, Windows CD to ensure it correct as per my order. He explain this and that as usual salesman... He told me he will bring the free gift (Edifier) to me this Sat as their shop is out of stock.
After confirm everything, then he left.

For email replies, I dun think it's quite prompt as per XoticPC.. Normally is I write to them today, they will only reply after 20 to 24 hrs..

The good thing I can figure out is perhaps the warranty. My lappy is covered with 3 years warranty:-
1st year: Sager and local warranty
2nd and 3rd year: Local warranty

Is XoticPC only provide 1 year warranty? Extra warranty need to pay?

Hi guys,

Now I need your advice here.

My system is pre-installed with the official Nvidia 179.48 drivers. However, should I install the Laptopvideo2go 185.26 or Dox 185.20 driver?

Thanks

I am currently using 320GB 7200RPM.. Waht i can say it is extremely when loading large files, applications, games or avi files. It takes only 0.5 secs to load a 2GB blueray ripped MKV file.

But let's say if i need further HDD, i can anytime buy a external HDD or use a e-SAta.

Actually, Sager or XoticPC representatives should set up a booth in this PC fair. I believe if they have a booth to sell Sager lappies, at least 100 units will be guaranteed sold during this fair... hahaha

Just to share, yesterday I just installed the GTA4 and play at native reso (1920X1200) with high settings.

The game runs damn smoothly with no lag at all. Graphics, Display and Audio all damn nice.

Hence, this lappy is highly recommended for high end gamers with a high budget of course.

nice...laptop there...I'm considering buying Sager NP8662 from singapore.Do i need to pay extra shipping fee to malaysia(K.L)?

If you are in M'sia, I suggest you to buy from XoticPC since the reseller in Spore only deliver locally to customers in Spore. Unless u are willing to travel to Spore to collect ur system.

I am wondering why there is no official reseller in M'sia. Even a 3rd world country like Indonesia, there have a Sager official reseller in Jakarta.

I dun think OC the laptop GC is a good idea, I only recommend OC for desktop cards.
