if u choose mucro, payment can be made by using maybank transfer to their maybank company account... without charge..
payment thru paypal to mucro, will be charge...

if u choose xoticpc, payment can be thru maybank but charge a little bit.. wire transfer to their account...

hi fellow sager users. i'm kinda stuck between getting my sager 8690 from mucro or from xoticpc. comments?
there's come pros and cons getting from either of them.

Mucro
Pros:
1) i can collect the order myself.
2) if there's any problem with the notebook i can bring it back to them to fix it without having to send it to usa.

Cons:
1) i know nothing about them, their quality, how they handle their product, service, support etc.

Xotic:
Pros:
1) handles their product very well from what i heard. having them to send it to malaysia from usa and arrive in perfect condition.
2) good customer service.

Cons:
1) i may have to wait for a long period of time (a few weeks maybe?) after i checkout
2) if there's any problem i'll have to send it back to usa (or i think so) and the cost is mine to bare.

MX3 is a quite a tough paste to properly apply. You'd need to do a few tries before you get used to applying it. Currently, I'm using the dot method on my GPU. Not gonna touch it anytime soon since the temps are quite good.

Go get the AS5 or Tuniq TX-2@3. They're easier to apply if you use the spread method.

Seems like more people have been voting for Sager in the worst laptop brand thread. lol.....

i guess 50% of those who voted for sager are fanboys.

Anyways, got a reply about the purple-ing of my heatsink from the people at NBR. Nothing much to worry about. Phew... What a relief. biggrin.gif If it was something to worry about, I'd go fire Mucro for the job that they did.

Gonna test again when I get IC7 from BlueBean. Hopefully this time, the temps would be way better than before.

what about the purple-ing of your heatsink? any pics?

no promises on that sonic smile.gif

Source: W860CU HD5870 Overheating Problem

Well, for one thing, Mucro doesn't make these laptops nor do they apply the paste. Everything comes from the US reseller (XoticPC, Sager, RJTech, Style-Note, etc) and they ship it to us after some testing to make sure everything runs well. This happened because their so called "expert" did the paste job on my HD5870. From the posts I quoted above, it seems I don't have much to worry about but it does pain me a little to see that it turned purple.
*
if it was my 8690, i'd be pretty upset to.
i guess i'm going to apply the paste myself when i get a 8690.
